Hi all, so I normally cruise RC, haven't cruise P&O since 2005.
On Friday morning I called P&O about a cruise in just three weeks time, I was given prices for 3 different cabin grades. I hung up, called the hubby, we both got time off work, booked a dog sitter and I called back within the hour.... to be told the whole cruise was now sold out. Gutted! Now, I get this can happen, not the cruiseline's fault or anything!... but we're a bit gutted given we just took the time off work etc. They've put us on a waitlist for any oceanview cabin (it's only 3 nights and at sea so didn't get a balcony like usual). We must be pretty early on the waitlist given time difference between their being cabins available and selling out... although it's only three weeks away. Has anyone been put on waitlist before? How often do these usually clear? I know there's no guarantee but I'm wondering if we give up now and try and book a different holiday (not a cruise) or wait it out a week or so...but then we'll be really close to the weekend in question in terms of booking something else. So just trying to gauge really how often people have had success at waitlists! thanks!

Hi! Has anyone been to Rick's Cafe from Falmouth while in port? Transport options/prices/how long etc would be amazing thank you! It's quite a way so not sure if it's do-able?

Hi all! It's been 10yrs since I last went to Cozumel on a RC ship and can't really remember it so well as just did a tour there which was tequila tasting etc! Since then I've done a fair bit of actual travel around various parts of Mexico. The food in the Yucatan area is by far the best to me! :-) So we'd like to do Cozumel on our own, find a nice beach to spend some chill time (preferably not a beach club) and then grab some delicious local fare in a nice restaurant. Any recommendations?
The only other thing I looked at was the Mexican cooking, tasting and beach break because it combined food and beach time - but not sure how many people are usually on that tour?
thanks in advance!

Ok thanks Deb, we were planning on ordering in advance but were interested in the 'countdown to cruise special' if that was likely to exist on top :-)

Thanks, I realise I can cancel and repurchase - but since the purchase will be processed in US dollars on a foreign credit card, if I end up cancelling you take a gamble over how much will actually be refunded to your foreign credit card at the time in terms of changes in foreign currency, foreign currency transaction fees and the whole difference between buy/sell rates... so it's not quite as easy :-)

Hi! Mine comes up as £35.42 GBP per day - but then 20% compulsory gratuity on top when you add it to your cart. I think when the 20% off offer was on it basically nullified the gratuity add on.

Hi all! Has anyone that has recently travelled on Harmony of the Seas received an email giving discount on the drink packages in the lead up to the cruise? I missed a 20% discount a while ago and hoping another one comes around... I have seen that sometimes people get a 'countdown to cruise email' with drink package specials close to traveling. We don't travel until November but just wondering in advance! thanks!

Hi all! Has anyone travelled in a B1 cabin on Harmony with an infant?
We will be travelling as a group, two of the couples have babies (one will be 20mths, the other one approx 2.5yrs) What sleeping arrangement did they have in the cabin- do they provide cots/cribs? thanks!

thanks for that - that was really helpful!

Thanks, haven't seen Mamma Mia but the other shows all sound the same- any idea what the ice shows are at the moment?

Hi! So my family and I were/are (?!) pretty settled on another cruise on Allure as we love that ship so much...but was just thinking about Harmony. Can someone who has stayed in a B1 cabin on deck 10 or 11 on harmony give their feedback on the view? Those are the cabins we have on Allure but I was wondering if that massive slide on harmony (which is cool in terms of an activity) means those cabins are not as good? we liked that we had a great view of the boardwalk, aqua theatre but then a clear view out to the ocean. Also, it woudl be late November if we took that boat and last time I sailed in late november we hit a hurrican and only stopped once in 7 days! lol Thanks all!

Hi! Does anyone know how often they change the shows on Allure? We went on a Carib cruise on Allure in January 2015 and want to go on the ship again June next year (2017) but don't want all the same shows... thank you!!
-
oK thanks, is it better to book through RC direct or a travel agent? which is more likely to have better perks? and do they have the availability to check for the GAP programme if you give them a ship class and approximate date if you're a little flexible?
-
hi there! does anyone know what benefits there are for booking 8 cabins on Allure as a group booking? Looking at travelling June 2017. Thanks!

Hi all!
Travelling to St Martin on RC's Allure, arriving Philipsburg. Can anyone tell me which car rental agencies are at the pier? I've found Coastal Car company and Hertz so far. Wanting to compare prices, can anyone tell me which other companies are there? thanks!! Kristi

Thanks Emmy! Ah so I see the last two cabins on deck 11 are RIGHT underneath the bridge! What cabin number was that top picture taken from?
-
Thanks Mama2tay!!! Thats sooo good to know ;-) In both these cabins, were they beds by balcony? (Because i was booking two beside each other but prefer bed by balcony so thought I had to 11329 and 11325...)
-
Thanks guys!
Hubofhockey... was the bridge directly over the top of your cabin balcony or the ones closer to the end? That sounds confusing, but I was thinking if we booked the two end ones, it would be weird if standing on balcony, if you looked up the bridge went straight over top of you, quite close to your heads (well ok a metre or so...) rather than looking straight up to sky (past the other balconies!)

Seattle Covid Testing locations pre-cruise for NON-US citizens
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Hi all! We are on Kiwi passports and will be travelling prior to our Alaskan cruise. So we will be flying in from Calgary, Canada to Seattle the day before our RC Alaskan cruise departs. I'm really struggling to find testing locations as everything that comes up seems to be things where it sounds like you need to be a US citizen or the Xprescheck at the airport which seems to be $250 per test?! Any ideas where we can get quick turnaround covid tests on arrival in Seattle for hopefully less than $500 for the pair of us??
OR... will our tests in Canada be sufficient as they will be within 2 days of travel anyway so we don't have to worry about testing in Seattle?
Thank you all!
