  1. Really enjoying your review. I sailed the Pride in September of 12 as a girls getaway and we enjoyed going out of Baltimore. I am going with hubby this October for his birthday and cannot wait to see the 2.0 upgrades. I agree that the shows are not always the best and we will pick and choose. Looking forward to trying David's this time.

  2. Our last cruise was a girls trip with my Mom and my BFF. Mom purchased a product called Poopoori. You spray it in the toilet before going and it is 100% better than bathroom spray, LOL. I trialled it on my hubby at home before we left and it was miraculous! It's now in my carry on for any trip (especially if hubby is going[emoji3]).

  3. I booked our Carnival Pride cruise about 8 months ago for my hubby's 45 birthday. It just so happens that a few weeks back they announced Lionel Ritchie performing on our cruise. Since hubby is a fan, I am suprising him with tickets. I had the cruise booked anyway at a very good price, well in advance of this, so I think it will be a fun addition to his birthday trip. We originally chose this cruise because it goes to Port Canaveral and we can spend one day at Disney! And for us one day at Disney beats no days at Disney so the concert is just an added bonus.

  4. The Grandeur is 2500 CDN and the Pride is 2100 US or 2600 CDN, the Pride for 2016 goes to Nassau, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay and Royal goes to Key West, PC, Nassau and Coco Coy. Both are 8 days. I've heard more good things about Grandeur. What're your thoughts on the two ships, are main factors when we book is price, food options, entertainment and activitys.

I have been on both (Pride in Sept of 12 and Grandeur last October) and they both have plusses and minus'. I think destination should be a factor. We loved Grand Turks with Pride and loved going to Disney for the day with Port Caneveral also the Key West stop was great. Not a fan of Nassau so I could care less about that stop (sorry). Half Moon Cay was nicer, in my opinion than Coco Cay. COco Cay felt like a mini Nassau with all the stalls and the people trying to get you to come over and buy. Pride had 24hr pizza and ice cream, wherer Granduer did not. I liked the live entertainment on Grandeur better, but Bingo was more frequent and scheduled better on the Pride. We enjoyed the food on both. Grandeur seemed cleaner but I am really excited to see the 2.0 upgrades on the Pride.

  5. "If you never ate the seaday brunch, I think there is nothing better ... (huevos rancheros) shake and bake ... Wife liked eggs benedict and french toast ...

Here is the seaday brunch menu, i was hooked on it from our cruise last may on the Paradise

    Hi Griz400

We will be on the Pride in October and I have never done the seaday brunch. The menu looks great, especially the huevos. Is it served buffett style? If not can you still order more than one item? My hubby loves to try new things on cruises and tends to order a lot, LOL.

  6. Was on the Pride out of Baltimore with a friend a few years back, it was my first Carnival experience. While I did enjoy it I found it much different from my prior cruises on Disney. Very much a party atmosphere. We were just on the Grandeur, again my first RCL cruise. It was very much a seniors cruise, dont know if its because of the time of the year, October, or what. I enjoyed them both, My friend who is a die hard Carnival cruiser had two complaints about RCL, no 24hr ice cream and no 24hr pizza parlour. They shut it down around 10-11. I am taking my hubby on the Pride this coming October and cannot wait to see the 2.0 upgrades.

  7. Its about time that other ships get pool screens. Our first 2 cruises were on Disney and we loved watching movies under the stars and in the theatres. Then I went on my first Carnival cruise, the Pride, and no movies or movie theatres. We are going on the Pride again in October, this time I am bringing my hubby, and we cannot wait to watch movies after a long hard day of soaking up the sun, LOL. Is there somewhere that you can see the upcoming movies? I see you mentioned John Hearld, is his blog on the Carnival site? Thanks.

  8. We are booked with an extended balcony and from what I can see in pictures the bacony has a door that swings. I am used to sliding balcony doors and we like to keep the air off and the balcony door open at night so we can hear the ocean as we are drifting off to sleep. Is there a stopper so you can keep the door open or do you have to be creative and use a chair? Or am I looking at the picture wrong and the door actually slides. Thanks.

  9. Thanks for the review. I was on the Pride in 2013 and can't wait to see the changes in October. So so glad to see that they have come into the 21st century and replaced those hideous tv's with flat screens. We couldn't see a thing last cruise, while I don't watch tv on a cruise I love to see where we are and the view from the bridge.

  10. I just did the Granduer in October and the Pride in 2013. I am taking hubby on his first non Disney cruise next October and chose the Pride because of the destination. While I liked both ships I enjoyed the entertainment on Grandeur better, bingo is more frequent on the Pride and I enjoyed the food on both. You would think that since they both go out of Baltimore that they would be more competitive on pricing. I am so looking forward to the 2.0 on the Pride. I also agree that RCL's sale is a joke. I rebooked on the Granduer for a cruise in 16 on the Allue and this sale is $750 more.

Oh I sure hope the fellow is the same at the piano bar, he was amazing and so entertaining.

  11. I was on the Pride out of Baltimore in 2013 with a few girl friends. Me and hubby are thinking of booking for this October. How was your aft room. Was it as noisy and shaky as some say? They have them available and we are thinking about it but I would hate to ruin hubby's first Carnival cruise with a bad cabin experience. Cannot wait to experience the upgrades.

  12. We leave in 50 days for an all girls cruise, hubbys stay home:D. We are super excited. Thanks so much for posting a review. Our cruise also does Key West. We are doing Disney but when you took their transportation to Universal was there only a one time for your return or was there different timed buses heading back to the ship? Also since this will be our first RCCL cruise, how was the room service menu?

    Thanks again for the rview.

  13. I am going in October and will be my first RCCL cruise, I have previously done multiple Disney cruises and one Carnival.

We are in a Junior Suite. Has anyone recently stayed in one, are there any perks? What products do they have in the bathroom? I dont want to bring stuff if they provide a good product.

Also has anyone brought water or soda on board? I know they say no but I have been reading on here that some are bringing it on. I figure we should try, whats the worst that can happen, they throw it away!
