  1. Capt Bill's ship will be Radiance of the Seas. To keep your master mariner license you have to actually master a ship every 3-5 years. So its time for the mighty captain to return to sea! Wish Capt Nik would decide to keep his license and go back to sea for a spin around the block!

Yes, it is not surprising that Bill Wright will return to the RD. I met him onboard when he and Kent Ringborn were the Masters from the beginning in 2001. In September 2001 he was promoted to SVP, Safety, Security & Environment.

Kent Ringborn retired in May 2005 and now lives in Portugal.

  2. Captain Johnny was not the start up Captain for all Voyager class ships .Captain Svein Pettersen was the Captain for the Voyager. Captain Arnolf Remo was Captain for Adventure ,Captain Leif Otto Bang for the Navigator and Captain Johnney for the Mariner. So it was only one of the voyager class ships. It slips my mind who the Captain was for the Explorer.

Captain Faevelen was "start up captain" for the whole Voyger class, which does not mean he was in first command on any but MA.

The first EX Master was Olav Nyseter.

  3. FWIW - Indy comes out in May so Zini will be on until middle of June (maybe end of June). Then Capt Strazicic (Carol's Teo) takes over for a 10-14 wk rotation. That would put the next switch at around the end of Sept. So by the beginning of October, Capt Arnolf Remo should be onboard till close to the end of the year. They may switch again just before Christmas. So Capt Teo would be on at the beginning of 2009.

Captain Strazicic is in command now.

  4. Good to hear that everything is on schedule. I will be on her next Tuesday in Oslo so will post pictures then. I am not sure whether she will arrrive Monday evening or not. They will have to take Jewel of the Seas out of the port first.

Both ships vill be in Oslo on Monday. JW will arrive 0630 and ID 0900, but at different terminals. JW at the container harbour Sorenga and ID at the cruise terminal at Akershuskai.
