Here is a video of a seal pup on an ice flow.  Mom just dove into the water but I didn’t hit record in time.  You can see her nose pop up towards the top of the picture.

The next two videos show us leaving the Johns Hopkins Glacier.  I had to add the 2nd video so you could see the change in colour of the water and how gorgeous it is.

Yes you will get your actual time onboard - a couple days before disembarking. Those who can handle all their luggage will be allowed to disembark as soon as the ship is cleared. Those who can't handle all their luggage will choose when they disembark by selecting luggage tags for a designated time period. Even then there can be a delay if clearing the ship takes longer than normal.

If you want to handle all your luggage do you have to leave early or can you go at a later time.  We are not in a hurry to get off as we live just outside of Vancouver and are being picked up.  I am not a fan of leaving my luggage outside the door at night and was wanting to handle it ourselves.  Never having been on a HAL ship I am not sure of their procedures.  You actually pick your time, that's different always had it picked for me and come back to the room to having luggage tags of the bed.

Disembarking at the vast majority of ports HAL sails out of start around 7:15-7:30,and try very hard to be done by 9:30, to allow them to prepare for the next cruise.

When you can actually get off depends on the needs of you and the other pax for flights and other transport needs.

Highly recommend Tracy Arm!  At one point you feel you can touch the sides, port & starboard, of the mountains.   Holland used to cruise up Tracy Arm on its own - not having to book a tour.   Norway is so great but just a different feel than Tracy Arm.  Our experience anyway.

To the new 1st time Holland cruisers - no broadway productions but some really great music venues.  Lincoln Center is always our favorite.  Those young adults are so talented!  B.B.King, 2 piano guys etc all should be tried.  So hope you love your cruise.  In our humble opinion, the pinnacle ships are the best.

    Best to all,

mooseridge (leaving for 14 day Alaska tomorrow!)

I've been looking for this excursion and can't find it.  Perhaps sold out as we leave in 15 days, but I have been looking for quite awhile.  Where would it be?

  5. I notice on my boarding pass there is a disembark time of 8:30.  Is this the same for all and then we actually get a proper time for disembarkation when on the ship?  Trying to figure out what time I should tell my husband to pick us up at the port.

Good morning from Skagway! Looks to be clear and cool and full of fresh air.

No shore excursion planned today. DW is zip lining so look forward to that report. Not too much in the ship activity listing so will likely walk into Skagway to explore a bit.

Haven't noticed tea time.  I had heard it was everyday at 3:00 is this correct?

Well I paid a lot for bingo, the mega package was $59 and you got 39 plays plus a scratch off. I think the options were $19/$29/$39 and $59. I will ply again one day this week and will fill in some details. There were four rounds - last round was blackout/jackpot. Lasted just short of an hour and had a good time. Wesley has been our game show host twice and he is very personable and funny.

Thank you very much.  I think I would pay that much too and then give the one card to my daughter.  Share the wealth (I hope).

You can book online by maneuvering to “manage my bookings”. Often the pre-cruise rate is cheaper than you will get onboard. The specials on embarkation day are for the entirety of the cruise not necessarily for the single day.  Usually port days are the cheapest days and those specials will be announced in the daily program guides.  I don’t actually know if there are appointments made for early on embarkation day as the staff is usually busy giving tours and making appointments

Embarkation day is cheapest and for what I want you can book as early as 11:30.  But what if my embarkation is at like 1:30 or some such.  I don't know what times embarkation are as I am a first time HAL cruiser.  However I just checked prices and they have dropped for every day.  Probably just go day 2 now, not much difference.

I was on this cruise as well and traveled with two people on scooters. Glad to answer any particular questions. I had planned to do a little review myself, but one of my party could not fly back (covid positive) and we ended up driving back and that took a week. Now the cruise seems like a distant memory.

If you are asking about embarkation with scooters, I can say that traveling with people with scooters does have a benefit here. We did have verifly, so that did expedite things as well - but yes, handicap has their own line (same one that suites, club orange and status people use, I believe). I did make some notes that embarkation with scooter took 24 minutes from the time that we entered the convention room, until we were on the ship. It was crazy fast and we bypassed so many people. But honestly verifly would have bypassed many of them as well, 80% of people were passed with verifly and maybe 15% were passed because of the scooter. We only had to wait for one person after the verifly check. I do not have any pictures from the conference room. When you have scooters, you go to a human for the face recognition picture with a webcam instead of a machine. There were only two humans and maybe 8-10 machines, so there could be a bit of delay if the two humans were tied up with others. I had been told that if you upload a picture before hand, you could skip that step, but all 4 of us had uploaded pictures using the navigator app and still had to go through that step.

Thank you very much for your response.  When I cruised on Princess pre covid I know that we were on in no time.  First on after suite guests etc.  The rest of the room after us.  I was hoping it would be that way.  I don't use a scooter (Yet) only a walker.  The walking isn't that hard for me it is the standing still in one place for more than a minute without being able to sit that is the problem.  Thanks again.  Glad you made it home safe and sound.

The tv offerings were pretty minimal for live shows, but there were several movies and travel shows.

We didn't much like the music channels, no jazz. The onboard account screen didn't always work. Kind of irritating when you no longer get any printouts, not even on the last night.

As I am travelling with my adult daughter how would the onboard account work?  Would there be two seperate ones or are we going to have to keep track and sort it out ourselves?  Also would there only be one bag or two or are they only for people who have travelled on HAL before?
