  1. I just added my nephew this week to a sailing I'd had booked for months. To do this, we had to downgrade one cabin category to get a room that held three people. While checking prices daily hoping for a drop, I came upon this in another CC post. My particular sailing happened to be going up according to this flyer, so don't know if the ones you are looking at will be a real 'sale' but it's worth a look.

OMG, Thank you so much, yes our potential booking is on this list and will be less!!!!

  2. I'd hang up and just start over with C&A.

Just hung up with a resolutions representative, supposed to talk to "another representative" and call me back. The only way I got anywhere so far was I kept a copy of the flyer from on the ship and I have my booking confirmation print our from on the ship. Threatened to cancel my 5 future reservations and my one for Celebrity! GRRRR

  3. Did they charge you $55 per night or $55 plus gratuity? The price is $49 plus gratuity which comes to about $57 a night.

$55 plus gratuity, it was a mess but at $77 per person x 6 of us were not going to let up. They were surprised we caught on, looks like from the previous cabin guest they were also charged the $49, final total was $404.43 each.

  4. So, we board at 8:30pm on Sat, May 27th and disembark Sat. June 4th. If you buy a drink package do they charge for both Saturdays?

Also, each of us has a $150 onboard credit. Can we use that toward our drink package? Then if so, I bet we have to wait to get onboard to purchase :)

    Thanks!

Last week on the Allure we bought when we got on board as we always do, they charged $55/per night for the premium, a couple of hours later we started looking at our receipt and realized it was $49/night online, I called Royal and they said it should be the $49/night. At the same time we were let into our stateroom and found an offer on the bed for $49/night if purchased on Day 1. We had a bit of fight with one of the bartenders to get our charge corrected but at that price we were not going to give up. I'm sure there were many who were charged more as there were 6 of us in our group and we were all charged the higher rate. Use caution if you prefer a certain type of wine, they may tell you its included in the pacakge and then you later find out they are out of it all and try to give you a cheaper one or get you to pay an upcharge by taking a higher level of wine.

    Just a word of caution.

  5. There is a YouTube video that someone on here posted a link to the other day of a tour through Harmony for what appeared to be press people. They toured a balcony cabin and it looked like the bed was first, then the couch, then the balcony. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the person that posted, but perhaps if you search You Tube Harmony of the Seas - the guy that posted it is named Matthias. It's in German, but you get to see quite a bit, including a cabin.

    Thanks much

  6. Yes, inside the stateroom, but in a place where they don't interfere with furniture. Don't know about the noise.

    Bob,

Any info on Harmony, just off the Allure yesterday, hate to be back home, booked onboard for Harmony and trying to figure out their configuration, called Royal and they were no help. We want 3 cabins and prefer connecting balconies, want at least 2 of cabins to have bed by balcony....any thoughts, someone on board the Allure told us all the beds will be by balcony on Harmony???

  7. Does anyone have any confirmed info on the location of the beds on Harmony Ocean balcony cabins. We are just off the Allure and had 3 connecting balconies for our cabins, but were surprised when the middle cabin had the bed next to the door, think we knew that was possible but forgot.

Someone on the ship mentioned the Harmony will have the beds next to the balconies in all cabins. I called royal and the agent had no clue.

We are booking for Jan 17 and Royal is already showing no availability for certain cabin types.

    Thanks!

  8. At St Thomas now, have been to Coki beach twice last summer, rocky in some spots, can get pretty crowded but overall good options, can snorkel from the beach. Don't care for Magens. Trying out Emerald/Lindbergh this time, nice spot, not really crowded, no seaweed problem, limited umbrellas, hard to shaded spots if no umbrellas.

  9. I wanted to go to Coki Beach because of its proximity to Coral World for the kids, but I've read a lot of reviews recently where Coki is gang saturated, dangerous and the smell of pot everywhere?

We will have our 5 yr old and our friends will have their 8 year old. My husband will do some light snorkeling. When I say light, I mean LIGHT.... only a novice and doesn't do it long, maybe 30 minutes or less. The rest of us will just swim, make sand castles and enjoy being a lazy bum on the beach! :)

We weren't happy with Megan's Bay last time went.... way too crowded.

What is a good beach for families? I'd like to go somewhere that has facilities (bathroom) and has food, drinks and beach chairs, etc.

What about Sapphire Beach? Is it crazy crowded? I realize we will be going during spring break week and crowds will be everywhere, but trying to make it as family friendly, safe and less crowded as possible.

    Thanks for any help!

See my other post about Coki vs Magens, have been researching a bunch the last couple of weeks and we are going to try Lindbergh/Emerald or Morning Star. I understand the gang/pot issue you mentioned at Coki as I say in my other post it seemed at the one end there were some "people hanging around" we didnt feel threatened but did notice it. Would not do Magens again, and Coki did get crowded in July and Sept.

  10. Just curious....can I ask what you meant by this? We keep going back and forth between going to Coki (with option of Coral World) or to Magens Bay with our kids..so just wondering what you liked much better of Coki over Magens (or do you mean that Coki is less crowded?...which I didn't think was the case since Coki is smaller).

PS - We are not snorkellers but from pictures, Coki looks so beautiful, with a few small waves for fun.

We were at Coki in July and Sept with NCL cruise, each time it felt like there were much more options for snacks and drinks etc. At Magens we went in Feb and felt like there were really no options for services, we got there in the early afternoon and it had to pay to get in and there were no amenities like we found at Coki. We chose Coki initially because of Coral World next door incase we decided to do it also. The kids had so much fun we didnt need to leave Coki. The far end of Coki seemed to be a little less kept up, some broken chairs and "people hanging out" but we didnt feel like it was a bad area, there were lots of families and kids there. If I had to choose I would do Coki over Magens anytime. Some friends we are going with in a couple of weeks have done both and agree, but we are going to try somewhere else, look at Lingdbergh/Emerald or Morning Star, those are our #1 and 2 choice for our trip in a couple of weeks. Our wants are 1. clean restrooms, 2. chairs/umbrellas/shade 3. Food and drinks if we want it 4. Taxi/bus service 5. Snorkel from beach if we want it.

    Good Luck, enjoy!

  11. We were at Coki twice last year, once with kids and once with adults only. I think it was a bit crowded but it beat out Magens Bay by far. We didnt feel the gang concern but we did notice the area to the far end seemed a bit littered and had multiple people "hanging' around. When we arrived one of the ones handling the chairs and umbreallas told us to stay in the center area as the far end had the smokers. We never felt unsafe, but as we get ready to leave next week we are looking to go elsewhere, maybe Lindbergh/Emerald or Morning Star.

  12. We are planning on being in St. Thomas the first part of April. We are wanting to go to Paradise Point, and ride the tram/sky ride.

If you have been on the Adventure of the Seas, do you know if you could get tickets for this from the ship? I was told the ship tickets for the ride are a tad cheaper, than getting them directly at the ride.

This was Carnival, that I had read about, so I didn't know if RCCL does that too?

We bought on Norwegian and they were the same price, and if for some reason we didnt make it we could get a refund on ship.

  13. This is a great map of St. Thomas, but I still cannot find what I'm looking for.:(

We are docking at Havensight. I have found Morningstar Beach which we are planning on going to.

What I cannot find is the Paradise Point area to get the tram. If it is located on "this" map, can you give me an idea (names) of what it is close to? I understand you can walk there from the pier, but I have looked at that distance, but don't see it listed on the map?[/QUOTW

We did paradise point from Havensight last summer it is very close and an easy walk, once you leave the port area, you cross the main street and turn left it is about 2 blocks on your right, a blue building I think, there are signs.

  14. Thank you for the ideas. Most of the time someone will be with mom. Just in case she is by herself, I just want to make sure that my mom can reach us.

We have used a nice set of walkie talkies for about $50 including from ship to the port stores and not had a problem with them.

  15. So I a booked on the allure for the first week of April. I was looking at the photo packages and asked on sailings in March they are $400 for the digital and print package. We are a family of 7 so typically I buy several photos and spend$150-200 on photos. Has anyone gotten the photo package before and found it to be worth it? With 7 of us (2 parents and5 kids) I am thinking It may. Advice would be great. Thanks

If you always give the same stateroom number when pic are taken then all the photos would come in one package, otherwise you wont get the whole group and the price may not be worth it.
