We loved the Adventure of the Seas- a beautiful ship. Yes, the beds are firm, more than our bed at home or the beds on Carnival, but we always had a great sleep.

On our Adventure of the Seas cruise in March, we saw food and drinks being taken away by the ship staff. Only water they sold at the debarkation gate was allowed to be taken off the ship in the ports. 

We've cruised on Carnival about 8 times, and only once (last spring) on RCL. We loved both cruises and will cruise on both again next March.

Both have Your Time Dining, but on RCL, you can book the same time for each evening, before boarding. The Maître D said we would be at the same table too, when we checked in the first evening, which was great. 

Entertainment was a little better on RCL, in my opinion, but the Cruise Director on Carnival was so much better and really got more people to take part in the activities. The CD on our RCL ship reminded me of a low budget game show host who had a huge ego. I wasn't fond of my fellow Canadian, LOL. Wereally enjoyed the ice show on RCL.

Food is about equal in the buffet, but Carnival offers many more choices for dinner in the MDR. We were very impressed with the "washy washy" lady or other staff who greeted us each morning and noon going into the RCL Windjammer, making sure we either washed our hands or/and used Purell to cut down on germs. Carnival had the sanitation stations but so many people ignore them.

Both the apps are great, but we really prefer the Carnival Hub app because of the chat feature. It was so handy when hubby and I were doing different things and trying to find each other, or for arrangements with friends we were cruising with.

We have just started playing Pickleball, and love it. We are not competitive but just like the exercise and having fun with the group we play with. I think I will pack our paddles for our March Adventure the Seas cruise, just in case it is offered.

Dad was on the Apollo redesign team after the fire. 

 

Dad was here when Apollo 11 was launched and the next day we were off on vacation for two weeks. We watched the lunar walk from Kentucky.

A few years ago, my son gave  Buzz Aldren and his wife private ski lessons at Lake Louise BC. My son said Buzz was a great, down to earth (pardon the pun) nice guy, and a good skier.

The food and beverage operation in Amber Cove is run by a global catering company that has been in service for over 25 years and also serves many major airlines and all airports in the Dominican Republic.  By law, they are required to import all their food and beverage products.  All cleaning products used by the facilities operator are approved by the FDA and EPA.  

So I hope that helps reassure you and I know that you will enjoy this superb port of call and have a brilliant time there

I have also received similar emails that should have been sent to someone else. Their booking info, itinerary etc were all included. What a breach of privacy! I've also had an email showing an unpaid balance, when another shows paid in full. Even phone agents were giving out conflicting info when I was transferred from agent to agent. Thank goodness the cruise was perfect or we would not be using Royal Caribbean again.

He may wear the Hawaiian shirt one more evening, but that's all. We do see so e fellows wearing them nightly, and have seen their partners with matching dresses. 

Does anyone know we allowed to purchase cans of soda in the ports and bring them back onboard to drink, if we have also taken some on during embarkation. 

I wear a dress that would be suitable for a summer party or wedding, and DH wears a sports jacket with dress pants, shirt and tie for the first "elegant " dinner. For the second I wear a different dressy outfit and he wears a "Hawaiian" shirt with casual summer pants. 

We loved the Adventure of the Seas and are excited to be going back in March. Although there were not as many menu choices in the MDR each evening as Carnival offers, we were pleased with our dinners each e, except one. Mt husband ordered a "rare" steak, and was served a well done one. On the 3rd attempt, he was given a steak cooked just rare. We found the Windjammer to have a huge variety every day for breakfast and lunch. Any day that the Windjammer was really busy, a closed off section was opened so guests were able to find seats quickly and easily.

The promenade was so different from anything we have seen on a ship before, and we loved it. The shops selling cruise attire and souvenirs didn't offer much for choices, but we enjoyed having an evening coffee and treat while sitting at the little restaurant in the promenade. 

The cruise director, a fellow Canadian was a disappointment - we rarely saw him all week, and when he was on stage or hosting an evening event, he was not outgoing, relaxed and fun like the CDs we've had on other ships. It certainly didn't affect the great time we had onboard, and we can't wait till we cruise again.

I think it was $75 for the two of us . What we liked better than other shuttle services was that he took us directly to our hotel with no other stops. 

We used Joe's Airport Taxi service after reading great reviews on another site. He was waiting in the terminal for us when we arrived, assisted by taking my luggage, had water in his van for us, and was very pleasant enroute to Cocoa Beach. 

We cruised on the Adventure of the Seas last March, our 1st RCCL cruise, snd we loved the ship. Can't wait to cruise on her again next March. The ship was beautiful, spotless and in great condition, especially compared to the Carnival ship we went on for our Side2Side cruise.

Thanks for the clarification. On RCL, we were able to make a reservation for YTD when we did our online check-in, and I misunderstood this to be the same. With it being a check in on the HUB app, it's still great and will save waiting in line during the busy times.

Thanks for the info about reserving a table on the Magic. We will be a group of 5 on her next spring, and we will ge sure to arrange the table ahead of time. 

My sister Jan was a cruise assistant on MV Delphi in the later 70's, then First Purser on the Vera Cruz. She still keeps in touch with several other former coworkers from her shipboard days. 

We've cruised out of Miami, Long Beach, Port Everglades, and Port Canaveral and they've all been great. 

We did a side to side last spring and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. We were on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas for 8 days, then a 6 day on the Carnival Conquest. The ships were just a couple of minutes apart by cab, in Port Everglades.

We have FTTF. Any suggestions as to what to the time we can check in? Is FTTF check in outside in a different area? Thanks in advance for any advice.
