  1. OTOH the CCL security team committed many filmed acts of felony assault on cruise passengers. It is called assault by means of a dangerous weapon, i.e. by means of a shod foot. So are you ok with that?

No, but I never said anything about the security team- just the thugs that started this mess. They show up in many different places, so no reason to be terrified of Carnival - it could happen anywhere. Only way to be sure you won't view a fight is to stay in the safety of your home.

The security team acted abominably, they should be fired/charged.

  2. I prefer any cabin I can be in. We've had balconies, OV and interior. I like a balcony to sit outside while DH gets ready, to have a drink before we go to bed, and to sit and read quietly when I need a break from all the people/noise up on deck.

That being said, we'll be in an interior on our upcoming Veendam cruise and a balcony on the Miracle. I'm sure I'll love both cruises. So far I haven't met a cruise I didn't like.

  3. When we go to Roatan we always do the Maya Key excursion. You used to be able to book independently but now have to book through Carnival. Love the snorkeling there, it's one of the best places we've ever snorkeled. There's a drop-off at the edge of the reef, amazing. We'll be there in March and have booked it again. There's also a faux Mayan ruin and a small rescue 'zoo' to see, as well as a fabulous lunch. Worth the $$

  4. We were on the Victory in October. Not much negative to say, but then I'm easy to please (as long as there's plenty of rum I'm good!).

The Alchemy Bar staff were amazing and service was great all over the ship. Like others have said, the Lido buffet is crowded. Someone should figure out a new layout for that area.

Would we sail on Victory again? Heck yes.

  5. Passport is optional in that case but:

Technicallyyou can get on, but MUST have an original birth certificate with state raisedseal and government issued photo ID. You have to be VERY careful withbirth certificates and that it' the correct one, both parents are listed byname and it is a birth certificate and not a registration of birth. Manyhave the incorrect one and won't get on. NEXT... if for any reason youneed to fly home from a port (emergency, injury, death, miss ship), youcannot do so without a passport.

Not all official state issued BC's have a raised seal - mine doesn't.

  6. One thing to find out about is the OBC. If you find a lower price will you keep your OBC? If it's a Carnival perk you won't, so you'd have to have a rather large drop in price to make it worthwhile to claim. If the OBC is from the TA they may have some 'fine print' about that, I would ask.

  7. It's kind of like the weather in S Florida - it could be 83° today and 60° a couple of days later. I lived in Nassau when I was younger. I know I got a new snorkel for Christmas and spent that afternoon at the beach trying it out. We also had some very cold (well, cold for Nassau) weather a couple of weeks later, too cold for the clothing we had.

So I guess the answer is - it depends on the day. Most likely you would have a decent beach day. Water temps should be in the mid 70's.

  8. I love Nachi because of the lower number of people there. You get chairs, a table and a palapa for your group. The servings are large, my big eater DH never left hungry.

Tip at the end, you'll have the same server all day (we love Carlos!)

A great way to spend the day.

  9. We did the "Atlantic Adventurer" in 2016 on Rotterdam for 42 days and Loved it. It also left and returned from Ft. Lauderdale. We wish they would do that one again... We would not be interested in going to Africa, but the Med was wonderful.

    HAL please repeat that one.

That sounds perfect. The one I was looking at only has a couple of ports in Africa, mostly it's the Med. Oh well, maybe one will show up for next year.

  10. We will be returning to the Fairfield Inn in Dania Beach. We drive to the port and FI has a park/cruise package that includes shuttle service. We left our car there for 21 days, safe in a fenced parking area. Easy walking distance to a couple of great restaurants too. Not a 5 star hotel, but a nice comfortable place to stay.
