  1. I love to go early before many people are awake. Often the cardio machines are fairly busy especially the first few days. I really enjoy the stretch class that's usually around 7am and the Abs class that usually follows. I pick up my coffee on the way back to the cabin. If I didn't hit the gym first thing it's unlikely I'd make it there at all. I always feel better if I can get some time in there to start my day.

  2. Has anyone been to Api Beach bar and restaurant in Cap Cana? From what I can tell so far the facility has a shuttle that would pick you up near where the ship's tender drops you off in Cap Cana. They don't sell day passes but have some kind of a minimum purchase agreement to use their bar/restaurant and beach area. I was looking at the Cap Cana area on GoogleEarth and found it. It looks like a convenient location to the port area. I'm wondering how this might compare to the beach in Juanillo.

  3. We were on the 2/11/18 Eastern Caribbean sailing on the Silhouette. We did 2 Celebrity excursions the day we were in port for St. Maarten - the second being a catamaran cruise. We were only in port until 5pm (all aboard at 4:30) so I'm fairly certain it wasn't the sunset catamaran; the departure time for the catamaran was 1pm. I found it to be one of the highlights. The crew was great, very friendly - while it gave a very eye-opening, sobering look at the hurricane destruction they're still dealing with. Maho Beach is not very active at all with airplane take-offs, landings. I think the catamaran crew said that there are virtually no major resorts open, so the tourist air traffic is next to nothing.

Thanks Amy, great info. Did your cat sail take you up toward Maho Bay/Maho Beach? We're in port until 7pm that day. Which other excursion did you take?

  4. Rising Tide was our go to bar most nights on the Allure back in October pre dinner. We had great service from the cocktail servers and the elevator operator. They were happy to take our photos for us also. Since being on the Rising Tide it has made every other elevator ride seem quite dull. Looking forward to returning again.

  5. I'm sure we have may others but this just came to mind... in the elevator on our way to dinner on formal night. A couple got on who were also all dressed up. He was in a tux and evidently had just recently shaved but cut himself. He still had the tiny piece of tissue on his face over the cut to help stop the bleeding. Not sure if he intended to leave it there all through dinner or forgot to remove it.
