  1. My family and I are planning to book the Allure next June. We haven’t sailed on Royal Caribbean yet and are wondering about the dining times.

I prefer late dining since we usually eat late and want to enjoy the ports as long as possible. But does late dining interfere with any shows?

Is early dining better for shows? What time is early dining?

How does my time dining work? Do you have to make reservations?

    Thanks for the help!

  2. I am looking into booking a cruise in June or July of 2019 and my family wanted to depart from NYC. When I do a search for it on the Carnival website NYC cruises are not available after September of this year. Is Carnival not going to be sailing out of NYC anymore?

  3. Yes, I have heard that on the Breeze it is different than on other ships of a different type. I'd just not go on the Breeze! On the 4 other ships we've tried it has never been any problem at all!

Well that is good to know! I lost hope in it after our last experience. We always eat late anyways so decided late seating was probably best for us.

  4. I do not understand all this work to get a table for 2? Just pick Anytime Dining and you can have a table for 2 every night and get the same wait staff who will know your preferences just as if you had a set time for dining.

We do that for every cruise without any problems. Sometimes when we didn't like our table for 2 's location we got a quieter more private table for 4 just for the 2 of us. Ask for what you want and you are likely to get it.

We no longer like anytime dining. We did it on our honeymoon cruise on Breeze and it was awful. We would wait in line for 30-40 minutes to get a buzzer. Then wait another 30-40 minutes to be seated. We were also ignored several times to the point that we left and went to lido to eat because nobody was coming to our table. One time a server told us we do not have priority because we do not have children so every time a family with kids sat down they went to them and we were not even acknowledged yet. I had to beg my husband to even go on another cruise after that experience.

  5. My husband and I are sailing on Vista departing June 25. We prefer to eat alone and would like to request a table for two. When is a good time to email the Maitre D to request our preferred seating? I don't want to email too early or too late. Let me know your thoughts and experiences requesting tables for two through email. Thanks!

  6. My husband is adopted and had a photo copy of his papers which were notarized. We used them twice to cruise with carnival and worked fine. About 4 years ago we were denied boarding because of those same documents that worked previously. Just depends on who you get I guess.

  7. My husband and I are thinking about booking the Vista for our next cruise. We prefer to eat alone and not be seated with other guests. We would like to do the late assigned seating for dinner but wondering if getting a table for two is possible or is your time dining the only way to get a table for two?

  8. Thanks for all the info so far but let me put another option into the mix. We could also wait until next summer to go on the Vista. It would be a 6 day from Miami going to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

Cost isn't a factor and neither is flight. Based on itinerary and ships. Which would you choose now? Magic, Glory, or Vista?
