  1. We spent 3 days post cruise in Venice (Med Odyssey Sept16) and found the vaporetto inexpensive and a great way to get around. We did use it to travel to the bus terminal with 1 large piece of luggage each (which became good chairs at the time).

  2. We are also looking at this cruise......but stumble when we think of being away from the kids/grandkids at Christmas. We would definitely take this cruise if another date was presented.

  3. I'm sorry to hear of your issues and disappointment with Viking's Passage Thru Western Europe cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the Med Odyssey cruise last Sept and have booked the West Indies cruise for next Feb based on our experience. Maybe your post will cause a message back from Viking Relations

    with some positive results.

  4. With our Med Odyessy trip last year, we purchases Viking Air Plus and paid a deviation fee (PP) to extend our stay in Venice. Viking explained all costs up front and allowed us input into the flights to and from. I'm sorry others have been discouraged......

  5. Great review! Although you did not do formal nights do you have any idea which one is lobster night? We will be on the Silhouette next month and are only doing one of the formal nights cuz my son wants the lobster so we have to make sure to pick the right one!

We are going ziplining in St Kitts. Will let you know how it goes ;) ....my husband and kids climbed the volcano last year do something different this year!

Sent from my iPad using Forums

The second formal night was lobster (and I believe it is always served 2nd formal night)

  6. They didn't have a choice--Viking is demanding full payment now for 2016

cruises!!! Apparently passengers are supposed to finance the ship...

In all fairness, we did have a choice..........we knew before we booked that payment was due in full by Dec'13 and we elected to accept those terms. :)

  7. We are on the 3/2 Silhouette cruise and have decided to wait to book Specialty dining based on good feedback from other cruisers. They have mentioned discount dining offers if reservations are slow or the possibility of a discount dining package once on the ship.

  8. Mine showed an error..........looking closely, I found I forgot to choose "Mrs" when listing my name..............probably something simple but not obvious ;)

When I found and corrected that error, my pass printed without problem.

  9. Our last 2 Equinox cruises were in March - 10/11 days...........no issues. My first thought - I don't believe Party Ready college kids would pick Celebrity by choice. I'm sure NCL / Princess / Carnival are full of party hearty souls. This March we're on a 7 day..........I hope I'm correct about their first choices!

  10. You might want to confirm this, but I think that if one person is taking the beverage package then the other person has to as well. Otherwise, what's to stop one of you from getting drinks for the other one (other than that you can only get one drink at a time). However, the beverage package also includes premium coffee and tea and bottled water. We didn't have more than 2 or 3 alcoholic beverages a day with our package, but we got a couple of cappucinos and a few bottled waters each day, so all in all it was worth it (especially since it was freeee!)

My husband always buys the Premium Beverage Package and I buy no package.

If servers notice the Package "owner" buying drinks for others, they have the option of revoking the drink package and has happened. His package was well worth the money.

  11. The last 3 yrs, when planning our cruise, we have looked at Oceania but continue to fall back to Celebrity. Truthfully, we are always "comfortable" when sailing with them. The few children we've noticed are always well behaved with good manners at dinner. (compliments to the parents/grandparents). The age group is a little older and the atmosphere is relaxing. Oceania has port options that Celebrity doesn't offer and that might be the deciding factor for you.

  12. We always stay at a motel on Stirling Dr. The K-Mart doesn't have much of a wine selection. The liquor store attached to BJ's does sell without membership (our yearly stop before cruising :) There is also a great bar/restaurant across the shopping center, past Home Depot and around the corner.
  13. Definitely the Tuscan......we are looking forward to dinner there, again, in just a few more months
