We (4 adults) are cruising on the Carnival Horizon 6-5-18 (Tuesday) - 6-13-18 (Wednesday. We are flying into Newark (EWR) Sunday 6-3-18 arriving at 9:50 AM and departing on Wednesday 6-13-18 at 9:20 PM. Our hotel budget is $250 per night. We've never been to NYC. For sure we are going to the 9/11 Museum. What are your suggestions for transportation to and from airport and hotel? Since we have a lot of time before the flight departs, is there anything we can do with our luggage to do a little sight seeing after the cruise before going to the airport?

Could you provide more details? Are you looking for 1 or 2 hotel rooms for 4 adults? If sharing a room, can you survive with 2 doubles or a King + sofa bed or do you need 2 queen beds (very tough in NYC)? How much luggage will your group have?

Transportation options from EWR to Manhattan include NJ Transit train, airport bus, private car service, and Uber/Lyft. Post cruise luggage storage is available at Schwartz Travel on W 37th St, which is close to both the train and Airport bus back to EWR.

Thanks for the info.

We could manage with 1 room. Double beds would work but prefer queen or 2 doubles and a sofa bed. We will have 6 -7 suitcases.

$250/night is too low a budget for 2 Queens or 2 doubles and a sofabed for your dates.

Are you AAA members, seniors, or military?

Since the 911 Memorial is a priority, I would suggest looking at the Doubletree in Jersey City across the Hudson River from the 911 Memorial area. I'm seeing 2 doubles plus a sofabed suite for $239 plus tax, $231 for Hilton Honors members, and $215 for AAA members. PATH train 2 blocks away will take you to midtown (33rd & 6th) or downtown (World Trade/911 Memorial) for $2.75.

If you want to stay in Manhattan, you're going to have to up your budget and perhaps settle for 2 doubles.
