gerig Posted January 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2018 A couple of months ago I booked a free balcony cabin which I received from Resorts casino in atlantic city. I kept looking at the havana cabins because of the private area which I wasn't able to upgrade at the time because of the casino rate policy. I called yesterday to downgrade to a havana inside cabin and was informed I can't switch to any other cabin because the casino offerings have been closed out. I questioned what this meant and was informed I can't upgrade or downgrade basically I can't change at all. What I find strange is this cruise is on the new Horizon which has many available havana balcony cabins and also has havana inside cabins available. If anyone has experience with casino rates being closed, please provide this information. The cruise is in June and I'm hoping they open it again. I asked about upsells and information was not provided.
Norco Cruiser Posted January 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Once the offer period is closed any changes will be based on the cruise pricing at that time. Therefore you would lose your original free offer by making the change. Unless you get a new free offer, then you can take the new free offer and cancel the first one. It may result in cancellation charges.

I frequently get free cruises on Princess and NCL but I have never cruised Carnival with a free cruise offer and see there are more restrictions.
