luggage from the ship to airport

My friends and I are first timers and are confused about what the luggage procedures are. We are flying in San Juan a day early to visit family and know we are responsible to get our luggage to the ship. I am not sure if we also have to carry our luggage from the ship to the airport. We are cruising on Royal Caribbean, flying Continental. Thanks!

Did you purchase a transfer from RCI to go from the ship to the airport? If you did, then you will claim your luggage in the terminal and take it to the bus assigned to go to the airport. Your luggage will be on the bus with you.

If you didn't buy any transfers, then you will have to get a taxi at the pier after you have claimed your luggage and get to the airport on your own.

we didn't buy a transfer. so RCL is going to take our luggage, then we get off the ship, and go find it? do we have the option of carrying our own luggage off? or do they want to make sure we aren't stealing towels or silverware? thank you for the help
