Dolphin "observers" only?

Hello! I posted this on the Nassau board, but I'm sure to get more responses here. Family of 6 going to Nassau on Serenade in January. Older teens want to swim with the dolphins at Blue Lagoon Island. 3 Adults want to be observers only. Royal says we all must pay the high cost of the excursion. Marketing rep at Blue Lagoon says to go to the shore excursion desk after boarding and they will arrange the observer pass. It sounded like they do this quite often, but no one at RCCL knew about it. (I've called twice now.) I'm hoping to find someone who knows something about this, or has maybe even done it themselves!
