David brown 1906 Posted May 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Can anyone verify that the cost to upgrade the drinks package on the D2 is £50, Is this done at reception. Can anyone also verify that the upgrade includes ALL coffee inc the coffee port where i believe there is a charge. Thank you. Pensioncruiser Posted May 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2018 It is £50 and it does include all coffee's in the Port you will be asked many times to upgrade, it's not a problem. if you don't upgrade the coffee is at half price but free in all the other bars and it's ok but not as good as in the Port. Don't forget the AI does not start till 10.00am[emoji21] Sent from my b1-720 using Forums mobile app
SausPud Posted May 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Also, the AI stops at 2 am. It is also £50 for the week, for each person. Just over £7 a day. So a couple of drinks off the premium menu (alcoholic) or a few coffees, (about 4) for it to be worthwhile. If you will be doing more than this, then go for it. SausPud Posted May 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2018 I'm doing a 2 week back to back, and trying the first week without and see how I go. Then add to the second week if required, for a change of drinks or more coffee. I'm doing Fred Olsen this year and they charge £15 a day for the same menu as Marella does free, and charge more for the premium drinks. The Coffee shop isn't included in that and they are twice the price (or normal Starbucks prices) for the special coffee's. The Fred cruise price is costing around 20% more and I'm not even flying to the ship. And my cabin grade on Marella is 3 grades higher. So £50 for better drinks is deffo worth it IMHO unless the drinks included are already your favourite tipple, then don't bother.
David brown 1906 Posted May 15, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted May 15, 2018 My tipple is Stella which doesn't affect my guts. My wife's is Hendricks gin . So for £200 we are both happy Sent from my SM-G955F using Forums mobile app
