What is the up to date status of Cunard's alcohol policy?

'Wine'packages are available to pre-purchase in advance or onboard via the sommelier.

The guest is give a booklet of 'Coupons' depending on the amount of bottles chosen from the wine package. eg 4/6/12.

There is a standard selection of wine to choose from ie 'The Captains selection' or a slightly premium range, 'The Commodore selection'.

Is it less expensive to buy the tokens/coupons in advance?

The message mustn’t have spread around all the sommeliers yet as we only asked ours in the MDR on the last evening on 2/8 on QV. They’ll get you one way or another. We were planning taking our own in November but with that corkage possibly won’t bother.

Does anyone know who receives the corkage charge? Much better, in my view, if it's the sommeliers rather than Cunard.

I suspect it might be the latter though from the way one sommelier in the Verandah was very keen for our table to drink the wine we took to the restaurant so he could, presumably, sell us another one off the wine list!

Yes, easily. Easier if you can hand carry or wheel it aboard rather than checking it (custody plus protection from handling). I have a wheeled collapsible cooler that will hold about ten bottles (wine plus champagne). No one has batted an eyelash as I wheel it aboard.

Like this, but not precisely this:
