BJ questions about the AOS

The min. is $5....most of the time...don't know what the max bet is....I've never bet more than $15-20 per hand!

Our last cruise had a regular shoe....but they may have gone to the continuous shuffle...I HATE that!

Thank you. I agree. I like the regular shoe. The continuous shoe makes it feel less random. Also did you have a hard time getting on a table? Thanks again.

We were just on IOS a couple of weeks ago - I would think the casinos would be set up the same fleet wide so here is my experience.

The shoes were manually shuffled. The min bet was $5 at the single hand table, but it was $6 at the multi deck tables. The multi deck table had a side bet. The total of your side bet and main bet had to equal the $6. We never really had a problem finding a spot at the tables, but we always went in the afternoon.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the minimum/Max bets are on the Black Jack Tables on the Adventure of the Seas? Also, do they use a regular shoe or do they use a shoe machine? Thank you.

I worked in the casino on the Adventure about 5 years ago (ish) and at the time they used shoes (although that probably isn't the case now)

The BJ min/max at that time I think was 5 - 100 , 10 - 200 and (25 - 300 just one table though)

And there is a Singing Elvis statue next to the roulette table that drives all the dealers nuts (a little less conversation ... etc), well it did me anyway.

Roulette min - $1 , Dice min - $5 , CS min $5

cheers, chris

from a dealer perspective, we hate auto shuffles. By the time our shift has ended we all have back ache from constant leaning over. Also, if we can get to know you guys when we are shuffling, you are more inclined to tip us.

I was just on AOS a few weeks ago.

Majority of tables with $6 minimum bets, Blackjack pays 3:2. 8 Decks.

You could either bet $6 on your hand, or $5 bet with a $1 side bet that paid off if you got a 20 (sucker bet - don't do it!!)

They also had one single deck table, $5 minimum, but blackjack only paid 6:5, and no double after split. When the table had 3 or more players they would only deal two hands then re-shuffle. Shuffle at this table was done using ASM (automatic shuffle machine) NOT a CSM (continuous shuffle machine)

I play a lot of blackjack and have been counting cards (successfully - and profitably) for about a year. There is something fishy at sea at the blackjack tables here. I suspect there are some 10s missing from the decks or ....something else funky going on. Notice they do not open fresh decks of cards or spread them out for inspection before play starts each night like casinos where gaming is more tightly regulated. Dealers seemed to make their hands more often than any casino I have ever played.

Also, the dealers are very unfriendly. Many of them did NOT wait for hand signals - often times they play your hand for you without waiting for you to respond!

We were on AOS this past October and our experience was similar to Marty's.

There were $6 minimums on the multi decks with one $25 table, and the one single deck started with a minimum of $10 and went up from there. This table saw a lot of action and so the minimum quickly went up each evening.

I don't know that there were some 10s missing from the decks but that could be true as we lost at blackjack every evening (a first for us to lose each night). And we never saw them open up a fresh deck of cards the whole week.
