Tell them I am coming...or not?

To my fellow casino experts:

I recently had an offer for a comped cruise and I decided to take it later this year. In the meantime, I was already going on a cruise with one of their partner lines next month. If I am not planning to play as much on the cruise next month, should I still tell them I am coming? I am going with a few family members who I don't like to gamble around. Could it hurt my overall perks?

I don't play for the perks, but if they are going to give me something free, I might as well be as smart as possible to enjoy it...

Let me clarify my question:

They calculate your "level of play" based on your time spend gambling and the amount you gamble. If I am planning to go on a cruise where I know I will play much less than my normal level, should I still email them in advance and let them know?

Why wouldn't you? Just because you are not going to gamble "as much" as you normally would, you are still going to gamble some AND you may as well get credit for it.

If you are worried they will "uncomp" you the cruise...I don't see how they could do that if you already have it booked.

Your comped cruise is based on your previous play, already booked so your other cruise play or not, will have no affect on the comped cruise.

If you will be playing significantly below your usual standards (and comps for this play would not be significant)(and you want to continue to receive offers in the future) I wouldn't bother getting rated for the play. It's hard to know what they base their offers on, but it must have some correlation to avg. bet, hours played, etc. Offers from Harrah's TR, for example, seem to be very closely tied to daily (and trip) averages...and a low number for a trip could affect future offers.

On the other hand, if you have a good host, explain the situation and see what they tell you.
