lorene1 Posted December 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2017 On previous AZ cruises we've enjoyed the convenience of onboard currency exchange. Does anyone know if this will be possible for Cuban currency?
SuzCruise Posted December 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2017 It was not possible on our cruise which ended last week. But in Havana there were several currency exchange booths in the cruise terminal. Very easy. Sent from my iPad using Forums
PelicanLvr Posted December 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2017 Probably not possible to exchange onboard because the Cuban government gets a 10% tax on exchange of US dollars in addition to the usual 3% exchange fee. Cuban currency is very controlled, but strangely one Cuban peso = 1 US Dollar. So, if you have any other main-stream currency (ie euros, pounds, Canadian $ etc) bring that and exchange that first and you will only pay the 3% fee. Much better exchange.
