Coolwhip82 Posted October 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2017 Cruising on the Dawn over Thanksgiving. After final payment (cue after these crazy hurricanes!!!) I noticed our cruise prices kept dropping. When I originally booked for 4 people (2A, 2C) an SD was $7491, SJ was $6491. Too rich for my blood so we went for two adjoining BAs for $5710. No suite perks, but the promo at the time include DSC so it was a great deal. I continue to watch fares weekly. On 9/1 they were SD: $6127, SJ $5527, and SC $6527. Today, I called for the 10th time, literally, and asked once again to combine our two reservations into one AND upgrade to a SJ or higher. Our vacation hero, Megan, came through and actually asked her supervisor if this was possible (after 9 other people, including my "personal cruise consultant Vicki" told me no. I would have to pay the penalty + difference in fare). We ended up with a SC for $6600. So $890 got us in a suite, with all the perks, and a $600 OBC, without having to bid and worry. I couldn't be happier. Moral of the story: keep asking for what you want. You just might get it.
