Just got back from a 3 day cruise to Nassau and Freeport on the Wonderful Glory, Following will be pictures of the Glory as promised. Someone had requested pictures of the Red Frog Pub, they did not have that on the Glory they did however have the Red Frog Rum Bar on the Lido, along with other upgrades.

Thursday, November 15th, We drove to Miami we live in Boynton Beach so it was only a one hour drive. We got to the port parked the car and headed to check in. We are VIP so we went through the VIP Security Line very quickly, They did not even open our luggage, they usually do when we carry on the allotted bottles of wine (I guess just to check if it is really wine), this time no checking at all.

We proceeded to the VIP lounge which is now located on the First Floor, Much larger room then the one upstairs. Just a note the Terminal has all been revamped. Where the VIP lounge used to be upstairs is no longer there they opened up the walls and it is now more waiting area for general boarding. At around 11:10 they announced on the Speaker that they are starting to Board Special Groups and VIP so one of the Carnival Reps escorted us upstairs and guided us to the escalator which brings you up and on to the ship. Again that area has changed, where they used to take the welcome aboard pictures is no longer there, it is now in a different area. Also the escalators that take you upstairs to the ship are now enclosed within plastic walls ( I guess so that it is more manageable to make sure that only those who have been called to board actually board. There is someone checking the Sail and Sign card prior to getting on the escalator)

We were on the ship and ready to go at about 11:20. We went to see if the room was ready because the Glory was in dry dock therefore no passengers got off, But it was not so we proceeded to the Lido. I tell you my amazement when I walked onto the Lido Deck, I absolutely LOVE the upgrades. (The Red Frog Rum Bar, the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, the Blue Iguana Cantina, Guys Burger Joint and the New Pizza Pirate) OMG the new Pizza is amazing and so are Guys Burgers…. WOW.

First order of business we had Guys Burgers and chose our spot for the next 3 days. Red Frog won. It is funny because it is like a competition on Board there is Team Red Frog and Team Blue Cantina. Kinda reminds me of the Blue Team vs Red Team thingy they used to do. Anyway we ended up being Team Red Frog. We had a couple of the New Rum Drinks very good. We hung out on the Lido as people came in and it started to fill up.

Then at around 1:30 we got to our room and it was ready. We had a Balcony room on the Verandah Deck, We were below the Pizza Place and I was afraid of hearing chairs being moved all night but I did not the only time we heard that was when we sat on the Balcony, but not in our cabin.

After unpacking we went around the ship, We were never on this ship so it was new for us. It was a nice ship we were on the Liberty and it looked exactly the same (different décor but same layout). We were waiting for the drill but it was delayed for quite some time so was our sailing it did not sail till around 6:45 we were supposed to sail at 4:00 pm. So we went back to the Lido and had a taco. The taco was good, I enjoyed the Guys better. There was a guitar player on the same side as the Tequilla Bar and the other days he alternated to the Rum Bar side. When we first got on board there was a DJ.

Finally we did the Drill and then the Sail Away Party, it was fun I met “Big Sexy” Josh the cruise director what an awesome guy so nice after talking awhile come to find out that his parents live down the street from where we live. Small world. We mentioned to him that my hubby just got his Bachelors and he sent him a bottle of champagne and strawberry’s dipped in chocolate in our cabin. Also the night before debarkation he sent us a hand written note again to congratulate him. What a great guy and funny too.

That night we had dinner reservations at the steak house it was very good for me worth the extra money because to be quite honest with you the food in the dining room is not very good at all. We did get the free bottle of wine in the steak house (following will be pics and will explain what we ordered). We went to look at the piano bar and it was dead just a few people. So then we went to the Comedy Club because Josh asked us earlier to meet him there we went to the Adult show. Comedian was ok, kind of hard to hear from the back. Then we went to the Blue Bar which had one guy singing if I am not mistaken it was the same guy that was on the Lido deck. He was not that good I did not enjoy it. We went to the Night Club which was ok for a bit then it turned completely to hip hop so we moved to the Casino Bar now that was happening we had lots of fun and hung out there till 2:00 AM.

I must say the entertainment on the ship was not that good. We did not go to the shows because all I saw being announced on the Fun times was a magician one night and a Juggler another night, I did not see the usual dance and music shows. (not sure whats up with that).

Next day we were in Nassau. Since we were up late the night before we decided just to get some room service and had coffee and croissants on the balcony and relax a bit. Then we headed up to the Lido Deck hung out there and ate some lunch before getting off hubby had Guys again and I had the pizza I really love the new pizza it is so good. We got off at Nassau and went to the free beach I believe it is called Junkanoo ??? we walked there. It was nice we sat at one of the beach bars they had a special of 4 beers and 4 shots for $10 dollars. Shots were actually juicy things hardly any alcohol. But it was fun. We walked the beach a bit and headed to Senor Frogs which was crazy as usual but lots of fun. We then got back on board at around 4 pm. We went back to the room and took a short nap and woke up and headed to the Taste Bar they had what looked like spring rolls stuffed with ground beef they were good. We went to the Alchemy Bar to have a cocktail before Elegant night. Alchemy Bar is a very nice atmosphere also a popular hang out. Went to dinner and I was very disappointed I had the Prime Rib and it was cold as ice. I am not much of a Lobster person so I skipped on that. My husband had the Pasta Carbonara and the Lobster he said it was ok. After dinner we went to check out the Latin group in the Ivory Bar they were good but again not many people so we headed up to the Night Club that night it was packed we stayed maybe 1 hour because again I did not like when the music changed to Hip hop so we went to the Casino Bar for one more drink and headed to the Pizza place because I did not eat my dinner and then off to bed. We were in bed by 12:30.

Morning after we were in Freeport. We were not going to get off but we saw outside our Balcony that they finally finished and opened Senor Frogs so we decided to get off. Again we had breakfast in our cabin (balcony) and went upstairs to have our Free drink, I want to mention that we had a letter in our room stating that for this cruise only because it is a short cruise and there were no sea days that we could use our free drink coupon at the Lobby Bar, Rum Bar or Tequilla Bar until 1:00 pm so we decided to go to the Tequila Bar this time and get our free drink and had some lunch.. I had Guys and so did my hubby AGAIN. Then we got off the ship walked around the little square they had a band playing in the square and we went to Senor Frogs for a drink again CRAZY as usual they had booty shaking contests etc. We stayed awhile and went back on the ship. We took our champagne that our room steward had put on ice for us (the one that Josh gave us) and stopped at the Casino bar for two champagne glasses and headed to Deck 10 and sat on the lounge chairs and drank our champagne. It was a nice afternoon. That night we decided not to Do the dinner in the dining room because earlier I looked at the Menu and we did not like it so we decided to eat on the Lido and I ordered a burrito before they closed the Blue Iguana Cantina the Burrito was actually good, and we had the pizza again different one. We then headed to the Alchemy Bar and had another concoction. I want to mention the menu at the Alchemy Bar is pretty cool when you open it, it lights up. That night was the Caribbean Beach Party on the Lido, looks like they changed the name used to be called the Mexican fiesta party. It was fun they were giving away noise makers, beads, whistles, and flowers for your head. We had lots of fun we met up with Josh again and talked awhile and then we did all the dances. After the party we headed down to the Karaoke, which was ok and then back to the Casino Bar to have a drink and say goodbye to all the people we had met at that bar the nights before. Funny we always found the same people there every night. We became good friends with the bartender there and at the Rum Bar on the Lido Deck. (NIKO), we were joking around every time I asked for my special drink he said are your ready for “Our Special” that’s because the first day I ordered the drink I told him to put less of the Lime juice and instead put more of the sprite, I believe the drink was called the Rum Bar Iced Tea or something close to that it was blue. Very tasty. Anyway after hanging out at the Casino a bit we headed to bed.

Next day was debarkation day, sad as always, we went to the Lido had breakfast, hung out a bit and decided to get off we started to head down at around 9:30, NO kidding by 9:45 we were at the garage getting our car. I could not believe how quick it was and we didn’t even wait to be the last to disembark they were actually still calling zone numbers. We got to customs and literally the officers were not even sitting in their booths they were all standing up and all they did is collect the blue customs card quickly looked at the passports and off we went. No questions what so ever he didn’t even look at the customs form he just took it from me and put it in a pile. Wow I was amazed. All in All it was a fun cruise again as mentioned above the Entertainment was not so good and neither was the dining room. But the rest was great. And the Staff and crew were super kind to us.

Good review....I too skipped the juggler and magician...very disappointing

I thought the terminal was new, not the same Carnival terminal...

everyone there told us it was new, first time using it, maybe remodeled but actually I think it was just new

they didn't even know where the elevator was etc...

I know the VIP area was totally different, blue plastic chairs like an airport instead of the red couches

a larger check in desk

I didn't really look at the other area much

maybe someone knows for sure?? new or just remodeled?
