Freeport Senor Frogs Plus ?

The last time I cruised to Freeport the ship docked at an industrial port with nothing of interest to cruisers. Now I see there is a Senor Frogs at the port. Did carnival change ports or is the area improving? Is there anything else there now besides the bar? Thank you.

Still same crappy port, they just built a "village" with stores, Senor Frogs and other food/drink options. We tried to go to Senor Frogs to get free wifi, but they don't have any!

Senor Frogs has changed that shopping area. Yes, there's shops as before, but it did seem more built up.

As for wifi, there's wifi to the right in between the two buildings. Not hard to find, just look to the right where everyone is sitting on the ground.

The Lucaya area is of newer buildings, I understand it had to be rebuilt post hurricane damage. Across the street is a big casino.

Not sure what else is there, I've heard there's a brewery tour, beaches, but I've not been there.

I see that Senor Frog's at Freeport Harbor opened in October 2012 - that's good news; anything helps.

We stayed a week on Grand Bahama once, and overall it's not as bad as many people say, IMO. Though I agree that there isn't that much to do as a port stop. But there are some nice beaches. Our Lucaya area is nice. Though the I would definitely NOT consider the casino there "large." Still, we didn't leave the port area on our last stop there. But we might have taken a taxi to a beach if the weather had cooperated.

Thank you for the responses. To be honest I was not overwhelmed by Freeport previously and if it were only DH and myself we would most likely stay on the ship. However, we will be doing a family cruise with folks who have never been there this time.

Freeport (the pier) was a vast improvement in December, 2012, over when we first stopped there in 2004. DH and I took a cab to the Lucaya straw market and enjoyed some time at the (free) beach across the street, but if you only want to get off the ship and not go anywhere, there are a number of vendors right at the pier now, live music playing, etc. It was small, but pleasant.
