Brenda33 Posted November 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2005 We are planning on taking the bus to Wyndham. You did mention it was the number 10 bus downtown. My question is, is downtown within walking distance from when we get off the Carnival Valor? I just don't want to get lost. Do you have more details? Thanks for ALL your help!! Smile, Brenda :)
scubagirrl Posted November 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2005 You will dock within a few meters of downtown Nassau. The #10 bus stop is about 5 short (and pleasant) blocks from the port. To get to the bus stop, take a right when you leave the dock, walk along the wharf to the Straw Market/Senor Frogs. The wharf will end here. Make a left and walk along the building (this is the British Colonial Hilton). When you get to the Hilton Entrance in the front, you'll see a McDonalds across the street. The bus stop is in front of McDonalds. Here's a map http://www.bahamasgp.com/islp-map-downtown-w.html You'll walk from #11 along the wharf to #6. It's very easy to find. The Bus will have a big #10 on the side and front. Tell the driver you want to go to the Wyndham, as you approach the hotels, just say "next stop" and pay $1 pp as you leave the bus. To get back to town, just flag down a bus, they come by every few minutes. Just look for the #10.

jstazy Posted November 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2005 Hapinowagin It appears that if you run your cursor over the numbers on the map the name of the location will show up on the upper left hand corner of the map...under the word "downtown"

scubagirrl Posted December 14, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2005 #62 is Gregory Arch Here's a link to a great Photo http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/big.asp?photoID=491352&catID=&style=&rowNumber=197&memberID=68738 (check the rest of this gallery for some very interesting bahamian sites.) There's a walking tour that may be of interest. You can do a guided tour from downtown, or just follow the guide from this link. http://www.bahamas-treasures.com/bahamas/Walkingtour.html
