You are near 2 malls loaded with shopping, movies, and lots of restaurant choices. Westshore Mall and International Mall. Don't miss Ybor City. You can ride the trolley from there to Channelside, adjacent to the Port for shopping and the Florida Aquarium. You could certainly spend the entire day at Busch Gardens. If you like fine steaks, Bern's Steakhouse on South Howard Avenue is unique. Take the tour after you dine. But for an only in Tampa experience (Ok, Sarasota too) have dinner at the Columbia Restaurant on E. Seventh St in Ybor.

Check out the smaller, mom and pop Cuban restaurants for great, inexpensive food. La Teresita and Havana Village are both good.

The Museum of Science and Industry is a fun, sneakily educational place that teenagers might enjoy. Barring that, leave Tampa and go across the bay to a really nice Gulf beach in Clearwater, Reddington Shores or Treasure Island. Guppy's is a wonderful, eclectic seafood restuarant down that way.
