why would anyone book Carnival to Alaska after this summer? The new itinerary is a total joke and does not give you the real alaska experience.

You know what they say about opinions, right?

I personally am going now because it's round trip from/to the US. Call me cheap or lazy, and call it a joke, but it's better than what I have experienced already.

And if I like it, I may do something else. :D

Okay, so in my eternal effort to discover everything I can before cruising, I have noticed many excursions that are for fishing, or crabbing, and a question occurred to me.

How do you get your catch home with you??

On most of the fishing excursions its either catch and release or catch and eat. It usually says that on the shore excursion info page.

We didn't book one thru the ship, but did a private charter that we set up prior to going. We shipped everything home for a fee. They cleaned and packaged everything for us and shipped it home.

That's great! I'm not much of a fisherman, but if I were to do it, I'd like to keep what I catch.

We booked our cruise onboard the Liberty so I have to pass on the group cruise. Got an onboard credit and a really good rate for a balcony where we wanted it (early saver rate). I'll be on the same cruise (June 22,2010) but won't be partaking in the group cruise. I hope you all have a great time! Even though we're not on the group cruise we can always meet up sometime if you like!
