Tenerife; Tram to La Laguna

Does anyone know anything about the tram in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, that runs from the town to La Laguna? How far is it from the port?

We like to use public local transport where possible and the ship's excursion to La Laguna sounds like we would be herded around a lot of sights we may not want to see.

We will be on Tenerife next month and were planning to try the tram to La Laguna, were you able to use the tram on your trip?

We will be in Tenerife next April, how did your visit there go? Did you use the tram? Is La Laguna worth seeing?

La Laguna is a beautiful town, ride in the tram is about 25 minutes from Santa Cruz.

After you exit the port the tram is about 2-3 blocks away.

Enjoy!!!

Tram is quite easy, every 8- 10 mins from port.

At present there is a temporary free courtesy bus from ship to drop off point ,about 300 m from the tram location.

take a left ,stay left, head towards the fountain, pass the Bank, look for sign posts , trams.

2.5 e return, keep plenty of loose change.
