Where to stay in Tampa

We will be on the Inspiration Dec 5. Would like to fly down the day before. Anyone stayed at a nice hotel close to the port? Any nice restaurants around?

Try the Embassy Suites at the Convention Center. It is very close to channelside for eating places. They have a managers reception for 2 hrs at night and a full breakfast in the morning. They have all kinds of discount rates. They also have a hotel in the Westshore area that is near the airport and a mall. We have stayed a both and liked them a lot.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Downtown.. they have a free shuttle to YBOR and 2 mile area I believe.. Hotel was great.. clean the pool rocked and the price was fantastic;)
