Snorkling for beginners?

We would very much like to snorkle but only from the beach for a couple of us., We took a snorkling tour to St.Johns several years ago and the snorkling originated from the beach., it was wonderful, had a great time. We inquired with Celebrity and the snorkling tour to Buck's Island is not from the beach or for the handicapped. If anyone know where we can go and maybe rent the equipment it would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know? Your help will be great! Thanks:D:eek:

You can find very nice snorkeling off Cane Bay Beach. You can take a taxi to Cane Bay. There is a dive shop just across the street from the beach and they rent snorkel gear. There is also two restaurants/bar for food/drinks/restrooms. Chairs available for rent usually at the one bar on the beach or the dive shop. Some shade available under trees. Try a St. Croix beach guide for photos and more information: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=beach+guide+st.+croix&aq=f&oq=&aqi=.
