New to RCCL -- need tips on Mariner to Mexico

Hi everyone. I posted this same question on the main RCCL board.

We are a family of 4, including 2 DD's who will be 13 and turning 9 during our Spring Break 2010. We are considering the Mariner of the Seas to the Mexican Riviera on March 7. We have been on Princess 5x and on Celebrity twice. We've already done Mexico twice on Princess and are also booked on the Sapphire Princess on Oct. 10. So the Spring Break trip is not for the intinerary but rather a chance to experience RCCL and try a new ship and a new line.

We don't like to put all four of us in one cabin, so on Princess we have done side-by-side balcony cabins so we can connect via the balcony partition. (We feel our kids are too young still to be by themselves across the hall.) DH is suggesting that on the Mariner we try two connecting "Atrium Cabin with Promenade View" rooms. I can live without a balcony but wondered if anyone has any comments on these rooms. Any noise issues or things we should be aware of? Other cabin tips or tips in general?

Thanks in advance. We always get the best info from CC.:)
