Night time on the ship

Aplmac: Great pics! If you see my post, do you mind replying and letting me know what camera and/or kind of filter? I'm awaiting my first digital camera ...it's all brand new to me...and trying to learn how some people get GREAT pics. They are so clear and the colors are beautiful :)

 

I will be taking my teen girls on their first cruise... in just a few days. I imagine we will enjoy the shows after our early seating dinner. Hopefully they will be in awe of the ocean as much as I am! I hope they won't mind a week of no internet and no texting for a week!! ha ha At 50 cents a text, I told then they could each send 5 texts! mean mom :( lol

I like to find a quiet deck and look out into the ocean. Even though I can't see anything, I like the breeze and the smell of the ocean. That is always the last thing I do before going to bed. I usually go to a show after dinner then sit and listen to the singers, guitar players, piano players, etc.... Sometimes I will go to the piano bar.

It all dpenends on who we are with. If it is just the 2 of us then we wander around, hit the casino, then head back to our room and order room service. Mmmmm yum! If we are hanging out with other people we tend to end up in the dance club partying until all hours of the night! We never know what is going to happen, but it is always awesome. :D

After late night dinner - usually a bit of a rush to get to the show.....after the show - check out the lounges - pop my head into the piano bar or disco or other lounges to check who is playing....will stick around if it is to my liking. Will watch the midnight comedy show if there is one. Cruise buddy pryd - poor thing is getting old - usually has to retire after the show (he needs his beauty sleep :D) so I am usually on my own.

 

Might visit the casino to spend my 'daily allotment' of fun money....but always end up on lido deck for a late night view of the ocean and stars.....then get some hot tea from the buffet to bring back to my cabin (avoiding any and all snacks that I see!)...and force myself inside and to bed.... tomorrow is another day right? :D

First to the cigar bar to enjoy a frozen rum runner, then to the cabin to change, and out to check out the other bars, the disco, the piano bar,, and the Lido deck. If nothing is really going on (rare), then we go back and hang out on the balcony.

Walk around the Lido Deck, listen to music there then go to the clubs, piano bar, check out the live music everywhere I can think of. Check out a show. Walk the various decks forward to aft, port to starboard - back and forth. It's really interesting the places I have found and the people I've seen! :eek:

Once it gets even later, go back and repeat. Pick up late night snack and maybe a drink of some sort. Lay back on a chaise on an upper unobstructed deck and watch the stars, hopefully a moon, listen to the waves and thank God for my job that allows me vacation time and ability to save some money here and there so I can enjoy it all.

Does anyone hate the BIG screen theatres that they have installed on the Lido deck of some ships? Where I used to love to go up top and watch the stars and listen to the wind it is now so bright and loud that it is hard to find some peace and quiet......One reason why I still prefer the smaller older ships....

Go dancing and then head out to the balcony area on the Lido deck to enjoy the night air and relax. I may be doing that in my own stateroom this time though since we'll have a balcony for the 1st time.

a drink or 2 and hit the casino until the wee hours.........then grab pizza sit on balcony........and just listen to ocean.

Pretty much the same as everyone else it seems. We do have plans to hit the hot tub on the serenity deck after dinner one night this upcoming cruise.

 

 

What time does the hot tub close?

i love deck parties, when they have them. Nothing like some fun music and a party atmosphere in the middle of the ocean! Personally, i love the tropical aspect of a cruise, and i always wonder why there isn't more tropical music on deck...during the day or night.

I absolutely LOVE the big screen !! If I want R&R I go to the back deck in the "adults only" area. I guess they design it that way so there is something for everyone.

We'll go see a show, or go check out the piano bar or a comedian. If DH to the casino, I'll usually head back to the cabin and read/relax a bit before bed. We both love going for strolls on deck and looking up at the stars and down at the waves. If the pools/hot tubs are open and uncrowded, we'll go take a quick dip. Most nights we'll order room service (ordering my little mug of hot tea is one of those simple little things I love about cruising).

 

Every cruise, I promise DH I'll stay up late and go dancing with him somewhere. Every cruise, we end up too tired to stay out much past 10. :)

Always take in the BIG show, if there's one that night. After that, I head to the karaoke lounge, and the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) runs over to the casino to make her donation. Later we move up to the Lido deck for some moon light, ice cream, or whatever is going on up there.

We usually go to the show, or to a lounge if we like the band that is playing and have a drink or two and maybe dance a slow song or two, take a walk on the upper deck, check out the photos in the photo area, go to the adult comedy show at midnight if there is one, and end the day enjoying our balcony and watching the stars, seeing other ships in the distance or maybe the lights of an island.

We go to the show - then up to the 11th or 12th deck. Find a nice quiet area and dance under the stars - my husband is a good hummer. Sometimes we just out on to the secret deck and watch the world float by. I can close my eyes and see it all over again - thanks.
