Sailor's~~~would anyone know of a link to a Port Everglades web cam? Both the Pride and the Legend are there today! Thought I'd take a peek!

And I think the Queen Mary2.......

I've searched, but to no avail!

Thanks!

Happy New Year to All!

It's a bit late but I was still recovering from way too much drowning of my sorrows on NYE yesterday.

Keep that for future reference.

Rermember the Pride goes through the Panama Canal soon and they have some excellent webcams at http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html.

I shall have to get my friends in the band to go out on deck and moon at the cameras ;)

By the way Martha, you'll be glad to know that Costel has rejoined the Pride as bandleader and will no doubt be doing his solo show again. Costel is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met and a truly excellent pianist. Hope you enjoy your crossing but then I know you always do.

Phil~~~~many thanks! I did find kroozcam, but alas, it was NOT turned on.....I shall indeed keep your web cam info handy! Let's stalk both the Pride and the Legend "strollin' thru' the Canal!"

And thank you for the information of Costel.......I do hope he will be with us on our Pride Crossing........and yes, this year's Gala will be a big one! I started the planning and the preprations last April! Everything is just almost in place! We will surely miss you! AND especially if my luggage attacks me in the hall at 2 a.m. and my suite door has slammed shut (the sea was mad that morning).......with me in my nighty and my poor hand drippin' blood! Thank you for escorting me down to the Doctor! A scene right out of "LUCY!" But, Dr. Margareta and Nursie Elizabeth put my arm in a sling the next morning before we disembarked and Norman and J.B. HAD to tote all my things off the Pride!!! How we did laugh! The minute we were in the Port terminal, OFF came the sling.......I didn't trust those two pirates with my "stuff!"

Oh Phil.......those were the days!

Let's stalk the Pride Jan 6th going thru' the Canal!

Happy New Year......and 2005 will be a grrrreat year for all of us!

Let's stalk the Pride Jan 6th going thru' the Canal!

This is the info I got from Carol the Tour manager. Remember times are local:

"We should enter the PC sometime after 0600 on the 7th - Friday and the

first lock soon after. We are scheduled at Gamboa at 11am - which is

about 2/3 of the way thru. We sail from Gamboa at 5pm, so we will be

passing thru the last of the locks between 5.30-7pm"

And yes, Costel will be with you on the crossing. I'll be on the P&O ship Oceana but please say hello to him for me.

If you hear from Carol again, please tell her I send her a big "Texas hug!" She's a fellow Texan and a good friend.

I hear from Carol all the time. Me and her became very good friends when I was on the Pride. Whenever I had bad news from home about my dad Carol was always the person who would listen and be there for me. I kept her supplied with popcorn and taught her how to use powerpoint and the internet to do her tour talks. She even used my laptop to do the presentations because the ship doesn't have one. Poor girl is often up till the early hours doing her tour talks or sorting out the paperwork and, if I was up late, I would always pop some microwave popcorn and take it up to her to cheer her up a bit.

If you really want to make Carol's day then bring a box of Orville Redenbacher's cinnabons flavour microwave popcorn on to the ship for her. You watch her face light up when you give it to her. Pass that on to anyone you know who is going on the Pride and make a lovely lady very happy.

Phil~~~I think Carol's tour presentations on the suite T.V. is the VERY best I've ever heard! As I always do my own tours and excursions, I am not around Carol nearly enough! She is a doll! And very talented!

I will indeedy take her the Popcorn come March!

Phil~~~I think Carol's tour presentations on the suite T.V. is the VERY best I've ever heard!

She used to do it using an old-fashioned slide projector until I introduced her to the wonders of google image search and microsoft powerpoint. I even taught her how to run the booth so she can prerecord the tour talks so they are on the TV system from day one. She does have an excellent way of presenting them and is very clear, even if she does run over her allocated time more often than not.

Phil~~~~I did receive a message this morning from the Pride ship.......the transit schedule is: Friday, 4:40 AM--arrive at the Gatun Docks

5:40 AM-- clearing Gatun Locks

Arrive Gamboa at 8 AM

resume transit at 2:00

I found an excellent web-cam for the Gatun Locks: Patrick Senecal.com for those wanting to watch the Pride "slither thru'".........I will also check out the "Kroooz Web Cam" for the Miraflores Locks."

Happy Trails and Sails!

Jane~~~as I get up with "the chickens" anyway, I will be watching at 4:40 AM their time. I think that will be 5:40, Central Time.

And YES, I am expecting some Pride Sailors, Starboard, waving at us! I bet we see a few Officer's ........T.V. stars!

Do plan on rising early in the morning.......we'll all "stalk" them! I'll be watching the "Patrick Senecal" Gatun Locks web-cam.

Happy Viewing!
