Star 11/22 S America Visa Question

Brazil visa’s come in many types, lengths and prices. The Brazil Consulate (LA) has a page that forwards you to an expediter service if you are not able to go direct to the Visa office in LA. This is because Brazil has designated regional consulates that are accountable for specific States. i.e.: you can’t use the Miami office if you live in Nevada. Here is the link:

You should be able to find an expediter (this or other) for your visa – did you ask your TA for assistance? However, it might cost well into the $200 plus range (per visa) *** and *** absolutely do not get it before 90 days of entry/arrival, as it will become void if not utilized within 90 days of issue. On a plus side, once you have it, you can use it multiple times for up to 5 years. Oddly, the LA office tends to charge the same for the 5 year visa, but you only get a one year visa, so make sure you tell them you want 5 years.

I mailed mine to Miami (I’m from Florida) on a Monday and got it back on Friday. Very fast, and completely correct. I did not use an expediter, but I don’t think the LA office allows you to mail in your passport for visa’s – so it is either in-person, or via an expeditor.

Good luck!

I just contacted ZVS (as advised by Princess) regarding visa for Brazil and was advised they are no longer able to arrange visas for Brazil. Apparently you have to visit the consulate in L.A. in person. I live in Nevada (Lake Tahoe). Any suggestions?
Try Generations Visa Service. I got my last Brazilian visa through them: http://www.genvisa.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=50&Itemid=57

We live in Southern Nevada and went had to get a Brazil visa late last year for our cruise in Jan. The LA consulate handles visas for anyone living in Nevada. We used a company called My Brazil Visa http://www.mybrazilvisa.com. They are located in the same building as the consulate and were wonderful to work with. I just checked their website and it appears as if the LA consulate has imposed some new strict appointment regulations on anyone attempting to obtain a visa including agencies such as mybrazilvisa. They were very helpful when I called to ask questions.
