pacurnl Posted January 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2005 We are going on the Dawn Jan 9, and I'm not much of a gambler. I have not seen much about slot tournaments or black jack tournaments. Can someone fill me in on how they work? Will I be totally at a loss if I really don't know too much, and just end up wasting my money? TIA. espmass Posted January 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2005 I don't think it's a waste as they are alot of fun. I entered the slot tournament once. You pay a fee ($10-$20) and then you simply stand and pull the handle for the time allotted and whoever wins the most is the winner. Pure luck. My husband actually won the blackjack tourney once and he's no big gambler. He paid the entry fee ($20.00) and that's it. You play with their chips and don't pay anything else. From what I could tell, the whole thing was just in good fun and everyone seems to have a good time. .
guardhouse Posted January 2, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2005 Agree. On the Dawn in April, slot tourney was $10 and you got to "push" the play button for 2 minutes, if I remember correctly. Most $$ in wins racked up wins or moves on. My wife had a ball and racked up 700 points or so. Unfortunately, the winner hit everything and had over 7,000 points! (dollars). Oh, well. For 5 minutes it was alot of laughs and hollering.
bjboothman Posted January 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2005 On the Dawn in December it cost $20 to enter the slot tournament and you got 5 minutes to get the most points possible during a first round. The top 5 or so players returned later in the day to compete against each other for an additional 5 minutes. Winner received $500.
