Hawaii shoe excursions?

We generally book 6 to 12 months in advance. We have tried almost all the snorkeling excursions offered. There are so many varied offerings for the RT Hawaii cruises. In Hilo the Waves and Waterfalls is wonderful as is the Tsunami museum, many folks enjoy the trip to Volcano National Park.

In Maui there is the road to Hana and the Molokini snorkel. Many gardens etc to visit. In Oahu there is way too much to cover here.

Well, you get the idea. For more ideas visit the Hawaii roll calls and you will discover loads of info re shorexes.

...but here are the excursions we have planned:

HILO - Volcano National Park Bicycle Tour

MAUI - Terralani Snorkle Tour

KAUAI - Zipline Tour

OAHU - Royal Dolphin Swim at Sea Life Park

OAHU - Paradise Cove Luau

KONA - Horseback Riding

The total for doing these tours was apprx $1000 pp. MAUI and OAHU are not booked thru HAL and OAHU includes the cost of renting a convertible to get around. The other tours are all ship tours.

We booked our cruise at a substantial discount online about 10months in advance and booked our excursions as soon as they became available.

I agree with the others that the Hawaii ports of call board is a great resource for ideas/private tour operators.

Here were some things we've done that were awesome:

Maui - Trilogy snorkel/sail (molokini or lanai, with a scuba or snuba option), Old lahaina Luau, Haleakala sunrise or sunset, Io Valley, Road to Hana, Goofy Foot surfing in Lahaina

Kona- Kona Honu diving, Fair Wind Snorkel/sail

Hilo- volcano tours abound- air or self drive

Kaui- We've done a helicopter tour, rental car

Oahu- luaus, Polynesian cultural center, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head Hike, amazing food at Duke's, drive the north shore, surfing lessons, Byodo (sp?) bhuddist temple................

So many things to do...so little time

Once you visit Hawaii....you'll be bitten to go again and again...kind of like the cruising bug:D
