specific cabin with upsell calls?

When Carnival calls to offer an upsell, can you choose a specific cabin or do they assign the cabin?

They offer you the cabin from what I have read..I dont think you have the option to barter which cabin you would like... but I could be wrong:confused:

our last trip in may we had in inside gty. When they offered us the upsell, we had a choice of 4 balcony cabins on 3 different decks. It took so long for me to look them up while I was on the phone w/ carnival that I lost the best one! I don't know if that is the norm, or we were just getting the benefit of everyone cancelling. This was our swine flu discount cruise ;)
