tommyboy7 Posted September 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2009 We've decided to save some money and get an inside cabin for our January Emerald cruise - Eastern Caribbean - with friends. Our TA did some searching and currently has two inside cabins on the Lido deck held - L236 & L240. Has anyone ever had rooms in this area that would care to comment? We like the proximity to everything, and certainly the price, but I am a bit worried about motion sickness and being under the Lotus Spa. Any thoughts / comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! BalconyGal Posted September 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2009 We loved the Lido deck. It was so close to the pool, bar, buffet..etc. The only issue would be if you were under the gym equipment but that is usually on the starboard side. If you are under the treatment rooms for the spa it will most likely be nice and quiet.
Carolina Cruisr Posted September 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2009 Totally agree with OneStarTattoo. We used to get balcony cabins but since we want to cruise more often we have taken inside cabins on the Lido deck for the last 3 cruises. Yesterday we booked the Emerald January 31, 2010 and have L240. Never found them noisy and are very convenient to pool and grill area. Enjoy! dcl1710 Posted September 25, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2009 We have done 4 cruises on the BA Lido deck - loved everyone of them for the ease to the pools, spa, etc. Our kids will be in L236 in December. It is not above the gym so it should be quiet. If this thread is still around I will post their thoughts. Daughter gets motion sick easily and so we are trying the II. Clutterlady Posted September 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2009 Had a Lido deck cabin on the Emerald and just loved it. The only drawback is waiting for an elevator when disembarking for a port! You have to have a lot of patience or enjoy doing steps:)
choochella Posted September 25, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2009 We always book inside II on the Lido deck. Great location and proximity to everything. No long halls to deal with when at the pool if you need to return to your cabin for forgotten items or a bathroom break. We have never encountered much motion or noise from above. And, it's close to the deck above the bridge for sailaway.
PirateGal Posted September 25, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2009 We are in room L102 and by the looks of the floor plans, we are right under the treadmills!!! Arrgh! Anyone have experience in this room? Will it be noisy in the mornings?
tommyboy7 Posted September 25, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted September 25, 2009 Thanks everyone for your comments. Sounds like a winner to me! I will be certain to post here again after our sailing to comment on the room.
seacruise9 Posted September 25, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2009 I cruised on the Caribbean Princess this past spring and had an inside cabin on the Lido Deck. Of course, this area of the ship is very similar on both the Caribbean and the Emerald. I loved this location and never noticed any motion or noise. It is great having a cabin near the pools and open deck. The location helps make up for the fact that these are inside cabins. Chuck
