Tailor on QM2

Is there still a tailor on board QM2?

We will need some alterations of our formal wear for the October 9 T/A.

I don't know if there is a tailor, but I have had seams let out and shortened very professionally on board so it may just be a skilled seamstress, although with all the crew uniforms to deal with, they may well have enough work to justify having one.

Yes, there is a tailor on board. On our last voyage on QM2 up the fjords earlier this year, she was featured in the daily ships newspaper as she had been awarded employee of the month. There was a little about her background and also about the type of work that she does, that includes everything from keeping the crew uniforms perfect to the wonderful show costumes and in between all this the alterations for the guests that may have over indulged and popped a few buttons!!

I bet she doesn’t have to make many clothes smaller!! Another of the wonderful jobs that go on in the background, that unless you have need for the service, you simply don’t think about.
