Canaletto questions

We have booked the Pinnacle Grill for one night, and Tamarind for two nights on our February Eurodam cruise. Sailaway and the two formal nights we will be in the MDR.

Looking at the Puerto Rico day, we will arrive back from our shore excursion probably too late to make it to our MDR early dining time.

Would this be a good night for Canaletto? Can we make reservations?

And is the menu for each day different (I know there are 7 of them) or can we choose from any of the menus?

Also, Is it difficult to find a table in the Silk Den?

Thank you.

We just got back from a cruise on the Eurodam. We were in the early seating in the MDR and had a wonderful table. That said, one of the highlights of the Canadian cruise is scenic cruising down the Saguenay fjord. We sailed from Seguenay at about 5PM wjhich would have placed dinner in the middle of that. We all opted to skip out on the dining room that night.

We booked a table in Canaletto with one of our MDR couples and had a very nice meal with excellent service. If you are not familiar with the setup, the Canaletto is located in a part of the Lido and made over for service for the evening meal.

We had no trouble securing a reservation for the same day. The menu is posted daily at the entrance on the Canaletto side of the Lido. We were not offered an alternate menu.

Regards,

The Silk Den is Bar Lounge -- we always tried to get seats by the front window so that we could look out.

Since Eurodam's debut, there are no longer 7 different menus -- just the same one every day. You can make reservations once on the ship.

Menu:

Canaletto Menu

ANTIPASTI e ZUPE:

Our chef’s selection of antipasti, cucumber and olives

Insalata Canaletto – Seasonal greens and tomato, cucumber and olives

Minestrone – A flavorful tomato broth consisting of white beans, pasta shells, fresh vegetables and thyme

Zuppe Di Pesce – Assorted seafood simmered with vegetables, tomatoes, flat parsley and saffron

PASTA, CARNE, PESCE e POLLO

Penne Alla Vodka – A deliciously light combination of our Pomodoro sauce, cream and vodka

Linguini Frutti Di Mare – Linguini pasta and clams, mussels, shrimps and scallops tossed in garlic, onions and cherry tomatoes

Baked Meat Lasagna Pomodoro – Baked with meat and tomato sauce and gratinated with four cheese sauce.

Veal Milanese – Breaded veal scaloppini with porcini mushrooms, spaghetti and vegetables

Chicken Marsala Scaloppini – Tender Scallops of chicken breast glazed with Marsala wine. Served with linguini pasta tossed with tomato and roasted garlic

Cod Putanesca – Marinated in lemon, oregano and olive oil, quickly sautéed and coated with a flavorful herbed tomato concassee with kalamata olives, capers and chopped parsley, served with grilled cheese polenta and balsamic glace

Spaghetti with Meatballs – The classic way to eat spaghetti; home made meatballs braised in a tomato and meat sauce served over olive oil tossed spaghetti

DOLCI

Trio of Tiramisu – Italy’s most famous dessert: presented in three flavored variations, espresso, lemon and Amaretto

Limoncello Crème – Refreshing crème topped with Tuscan lemon liqueur

Mille-Feuille of Madagascar Chocolate – With walnut praline and ice-cream

Gelato – A refreshing and full-flavored selection: strawberry, mango, vanilla and lemon

Thank you for the information! I'm glad they've gone to one menu at the Canaletto--it looks like they combined the best of the 7 days and put them into the single menu.

We've never ditched more than one night on tablemates before in the MDR. We will be sure to let them, and the waiter know we have other reservations.
