I know there's another thread about the glory but i wanted to give my opinion of my recent cruise. We have only cruised Royal Carribean before.

Here goes:

PROS

Service was outstanding!!!! room steward-Fantastic, Emabarkation and Debarkation staff- efficient and pleasant, wait staff-fantastic!,

We were in room 1018 on the panarama=Beautiful! Balcony was wonderful! Ports were great! Loved St Martin!

The specialty restaurant was beyond fantastic-A must do!!!!

Don't hate me:(

Cons

Food was mediocre at best (except for Emerald Room). The last few days I just could not stomach it! The "carnival melting cake" tasted and looked like chocolate cake batter=uncooked. I kept waiting for the food to get better but it never did:(

Casino-Tightest casino I have EVER been to! NO ONE won!

All in all a pretty good vacation if it weren't for the inedible food!

sarlin,

I totally agree with you. On monday 9/28, my husband order a shell fish pasta, which had a shell in it and unfortunately, he bit down on it and hurt his tooth. We werent too alarmed as sometimes this will happen. I was more concern about his tooth. He immediately told Nini, and she brought him another dish with beef and green beans(cant think of the name). When my husband bit into the green beans, he felt something sharp again and said, "oh, my goodness, what is this." Once, he peeled the green beans from the object, we realized it was a rusted staple, like from a crate. GROSS:( Nini alerted the maitred who apologized and stated nothing like this has happened before. The chef came over as well and said he doesnt know how the staple got into the green beans. The guest service manager was contacted as well and he initiated an investigation to see how a staple ended up in the food. The next morning they called and said no one else complained so it must have been an isolated incident. We did see the maitrd and he stated he personally went around the dining room asking people how they were enjoying there meal and no one had complaints about the green beans. I told him thank God. I also told him that since we had early dinner, they should have stopped serving the green beans as the staple was rusted and this was being served to the guest. He continued to apologize.

We were on the Glory for the 9/19 sailing. I pretty much agree with you. The dining room food is not quite as good as RCCL, but is much better than the "old days"! The thing that I

did not like was the "flat iron steak". It tasted good, but was very tough. It would have been better, but they won't give you a proper steak knife (a pet peeve of mine). I was telling our TA that it still had the whip marks on it! LOL It reminded me of the "Royal Steak" that RCCL used to have....Terrible!

I think that were Carnival is better is in the Lido food. I ate at the Asian and deli windows everyday. The fish & chips upstairs on 10 was pretty good too. The sushi station on deck 5 was very good too. This is where Carnival is better than RCCL. We really liked our cruise on the Glory and are now booked on the Oasis of the Seas for Oct/2010.

Joe<----Just countin' down the days! :D
