EBFURR Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I read about this some time ago, but can not find any info. We are on the Mariner in a few weeks and would like to know if they still have this and if it is worth the $$. Any help is greatly appreicated. andreakul Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We did it on the Navigator last summer. It was very unique, romantic and fun. Glad we did it. Hint- we didn't book it until mid-week. It hadn't sold out so they put it on sale for $80. You might want to not book right away maybe the same thing will happen. natesfirewife Posted May 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2004 It was only $83 on the Radiance without a special. My husband loved it so much that it's something he wants to do on every cruise. mrsbooger Posted May 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We did the Rasul on the Navigator in March. My hubby has never had any spa treatment and only agreed to it since it would just be the two of us. I'm glad we experienced it once, but we won't be going back for seconds. Don't get me wrong, we had fun. Keep in mind that it gets very warm. It was a little too steamy and hot for my hubby. He had to exit the room and catch his breath in the hallway. I'm sure this is the exception, but for anyone else out there that might have a potential problem with this I thought I'd give a heads up. Enjoy! Happy Cruising! pfleer Posted May 17, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We're in the same boat. We did it a couple of weeks ago on the Mariner. It was $91. They really didn't give us enough time to really enjoy ourselves. The rain showers were very hot. It took some time to get used to it. We did enjoy it very much, but probably won't do it again. Thanks! Peggy Mariner,Here we come!! ducklite Posted May 17, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We did it on another line. It was OK, but we won't be doing it again. It aggravated my asthma, and we didn't find it romantic, or even that much fun. It's probably a good choice if you want to do a spa treatment together without spending a fortune, or if you're traveling with kids and want a little private time as a couple. Shercara Posted May 17, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2004 OK -- What is "RASUL" ?? Can you pre-book Spa services for the VOS? Is there a site or link where you can view a "Menu" of spa services offered on VOS? amgal Posted May 17, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 17, 2004 my fiance (at the time) and i did it on the explorer in 11/01. it is a couples spa treatment where you give each other salt scrubs and then rub this mud on each other and then stay in the steamroom and at the end the showers come on and you rinse off. i think it was a 45 minute treatment. it was good but there was no way to keep track of time so we rushed it more than we should have and kind of ruined the mood a little. i don't know if i would do it again - bring some scrub from home and just go in your bathroom and do the rubdown - at least then you can have as much time as you want! EBFURR Posted May 17, 2004 Author #15 Share Posted May 17, 2004 This is great information, both positive and negative. I guess it depends upon personal tastes. Mrsbooger, from what I have heard about this treatment, could it have been you that caused your hubby to have to go catch his breath? Shercara Posted May 17, 2004 #16 Share Posted May 17, 2004 thanks amgal, sounds like the Suriel Bath we "experienced" on the Disney Magic. It was quite "interesting" Will have to think about adding this to our VOS cruise in July! When do you book the spa treatments? besito20 Posted August 9, 2004 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2004 Any recent Mariner cruisers do the Rasul with their significant other? Did they have any mid-week or last minute discounts for the Rasul. This kinda sounds like fun!
