Just booked another trip on QM2

Well I've gone ahead and booked another trip on QM2. It was my first choice and managed to get the time off work when I returned to work yesterday.

We will be going to all the places I have wanted to visit such as Barcelona, Naples and Rome. Got plenty of time to save up for all the ports of call, not going until 19th September 2010.

Oh well done Catherine.

It will be really enjoyable anticipating it with you:D

I wonder if there is a different atmosphere? I just love Transatlantic and we lasted just a short while longer than you before booking the next one!

I think you will be getting on as we get off next year.

Thats a shame I would have loved to have met up. Just joined the roll call for this trip, nice to know I'm not alone.

Well done Catherine!

QM2 round the Med, how absolutely wonderful. You'll get lots of advice on here about where to go and what to see and, of course, you can always sneak across and look at the excursion threads for other cruise lines as well. Last year we did 14 nights round the Med on the Independence of the Seas and visited some fantastic places. Where else are you stopping at?

Ports of call are:- Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples, Gibraltar and Lisbon.

Mam and Dad went to Monte Carlo when I was 18 and I could not go because of work commitments. I was telling day today that I was going, he won some money in the casino and bought my sister and I a nice present. So it will be nice to see it for myself.

The ports of call all sound really good. Will have to do lots of research, I love doing that.

Well done Catherine! You are as bad as the rest of us now:D

Don't forget to sign up for emails on the Cunard site, you might get offered a bargain before then. We've had some great offers from them.

Good choice!

I have found that the best way to deal with the post cruise blues is to make sure you have at least one, preferably 2 trips booked, so you have them to look forward to, and can start early planning on tours, sightseeing, and clothes!

I can see you have 2 great trips to look forward to. I wanted to do a no fly trip, and the ports of call are places I have not been. Lots of research to look forward to.

Exactly! This is the only way that I can get out of the fetal position on the last day of a cruise.

Well North East Girl, you are on your way to a wonderful , albeit expensive addiction. But then again what addiction is not expensive in some way?

  • 9 months later...

Also booked for the Sept 19 QMII Mediterranean - doing shore excursion research.

Does anyone know whether the QMII docks directly in Barcelone, Lisbon, Civitavecchia, Monte Carlo? Or do you have to take a tender to get ashore?
