martyap Posted October 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2009 First time on HAL. The scheduled arrival to Ft. Lauderdale is 7AM. I'm planning to book a 12:30 flight from FLL to JFK. Can you foresee any difficulty making this flight. Even if we don't disembark until 10:00 I should be OK.......Is HAL pretty much on the money???? Thanks....Karen
Boytjie Posted October 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2009 We have had 3 cruises ot of Ft. Lauderdale, 1 with Princess and 2 with HAL. In all three cases we were coming from the private islands in the Bahamas (close by) and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale well before 7 am. We were usually docked by the time we woke up. On the Caribbean Princess we did self-disembarkation and were off the ship around 7:40 am and in the airport around 8:05 am. We were able to change our 1 pm flight to 10 am. But, your mileage may vary. Nothing is guaranteed. But 12:30 should be OK.

Jemima Posted October 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Our 9/26 cruise had self disembark and the signature luggage people off first. I recall the time frame was around 7:15 to 7:45 and was just a little later than that. However, we didn't have to do immigration which your cruise will do. That can always hold things up a little. You might try the signature luggage program. I'd heard that FLL required passengers to still get or ID their luggage in the terminal, but think that it just went right to the airport on our cruise (not sure). rentlady Posted October 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2009 In the past when we have docked in Ft lauderdale, we had no problem getting off in a speedy fashion. last time we were loading our car in the parking deck by 8a.m. This should give you plenty of time to catch your plane. We are on the Eurodamn on the 24th too!:)
