lakim Posted October 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Several of us are looking for more information about the trolley/train tour of Belize. Does anyone have any more information about this? Can it be done independently? Is it offered through the cruise lines? Any info would be appreciated.
lakim Posted October 18, 2009 Author #2 Share Posted October 18, 2009 I finally found some info on the trolley/train. It is apparently only offered through the cruise lines. (And maybe only through NCL??) It costs $31 and lasts 1 hour. It is an open-air vehicle and includes Baron Bliss Lighthouse, the Governor's Mansion, St. John's Cathedral and the Swing Bridge. A 'local snack' and bottled water are included.
wentworth Posted October 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2009 I contacted Denise Ockey at Calypso Tours and she wrote back that the trolley/train tour is available only thru the cruiselines. She has contracts with 5 lines, but no contract as yet with Carnival. They need more trolleys before they can add carnival which they expect in 2011. She did say that there may be a few seats available and they are taken on a first come basis at pier check in. So if anyone is there and wants to be on standby they can ride. Often there are around 4 seats available. The cost is $32 per adult and $25 per child 2-11.
