Does any no of a reputable car rental agency on St John just for one day?

The car rental companies on St. John will rent for one day, however they won't take a one-day rental reservation with the exception of maybe Hertz. The reason is that they prefer a few day rental over a one day and by taking reservations for one day they might not have a car available for someone trying to reserve for a longer time. Once on St. John if you visit some of the car rental agencies (they are all pretty closely located to each other and to the ferry dock in Cruz Bay so you can walk from one to the next) you can see if they have something available for the day and if they do they will rent it to you. You can look up the car rental agencies before hand, a week or so before your cruise contact them and see if they will have anything on the day you need - this way you can illiminate the companies that are booked and then once on island follow up at the ones that said they might have had something. Have a back up plan in case you can't find a car... particularly if you are coming during high season (November through April roughly).
