Onboard credit fairy

Thank you to all of the posters... so far I have learned many tips and lots of helpful information. One of those tips involved getting an onboard credit.

I read about Early Saver and it reminded me about the price protection.

I'm sailing on Destiny Saturday (hope it will be OK sailing, some reviews have me leery.) Anyway, I put in for a price reduction. Then learned by reading forums that you cannot compare a "guarantee" cabin category to a specific category for price protection. So I planned on getting a rejection notice from Carnival. To my surprise, my friend and I got a $140 onboard credit. I guess the price dropped at some point that the Carnival rep saw that I did not catch. I printed all out and will bring with me.

Still doing a happy dance.:D
