Grand Hyatt, tampa bay

The Grand Hyatt is beautiful - but be aware that almost nothing is within walking distance. The Hyatt is located on the most western edge of Tampa, just at the Tampa side of one of the bridges that crosses over Tampa Bay towards Clearwater. That bridge is part of a fairly major highway (route 60) which you don't want to walk. The Hyatt sits back off the road a block or so and I don't think you can hear the highway, but it is on a block of land that is not connected to anything else. You have to access it from Route 60. And, there isn't much on that block of land besides some office buildings, some condos, and a couple of restaurants spread out between them.

I think its about a 15 minute or so drive to the port, which is located right on the edge of downtown Tampa.

Closer would be the International Mall which has some good fun restaurants. And - not too far away (15 -20 miles) is Clearwater beach, which is gorgeous.
