When will my stateroom be assigned?

We are traveling in early July and purchased a room where we did not select a stateroom (just that we wanted ocean view). When will we receive our room #? Will we get it before the cruise, or will we just receive it at check in?

Thanks!

Most of the time you get it before you set sail there are some times you get it assigned at the port before boarding.

Typically, you'll get a cabin assignment about 30 days out.

Occasionally, folks won't get an assignment until they arrive at the pier but that's VERY rare!!

Oh, and oops, brain problems over here. Our cruise is in January and not July.

Hang in there! Our best upgrade ever was when we got our assignment at the pier. We had booked the cheapest inside guarantee and ended up with an awesome balcony cabin on the Verandah deck. Only problem, now I always want a balcony:D!

Oh that is exciting to hear. Although, we aren't really expecting much as far as upgrades go, this is only our second cruise. :)

Not sure if you actually used a carnival planner right at Carnival but they usually know especially if it is a popular cruise because they aren't doing a lot of last minute (48 hour) sales. They put them in the very low deck insides as a rule, and upgrade others that paid more. They have electronic documents on the website and that will usually have your cabin number and you luggage tags which have your cabin number on it. Check the electronic docs or just call Carnival direct and ask, we find them to be very accommodating and book all our cruises direct.

We booked through the Carnival website. I checked the docs and it still says TBA. I'm not super worried about it. I was just curious.

alot more now. That the Guarantees are getting assigned last minute after they have exhausted all upsell possibilities. There are literally no free upgrades at all now. Once they feel they have gotten every extra dime them they start assigning.
