Why does this happen?

For the past few days, almost every time I try to access cruise critic or change to a different section of it, I get a blank page with an error message. Then if I hit the refresh button the blank screen with an error message turns into the right page. Why does this happen?

I've been having the same issue. Could be they are having server issues. I've noticed this time when I logged in I haven't been getting the same problem. Hopefully it is fixed.

It's not you....it's on cruisecritics end....I'm working on a new Macbook Pro so I knew it wasn't me.

I keep getting an error message 4 out of 5 times the last couple of days. It's frustrating because my post doesn't post and it gets lost. Oh well....

Lots of posts are going poof! They have so many more people on cruise critic now that I think they need to expand the system. I think it's called growing pains.

You're not alone!! Laura posted on another thread on Friday that they are aware of it & working on it & she will let us know when she knows more.

It is VERY frustrating!!!! I'm certainly not an IT expert but I would think that a site this large would have people available that would be able to remedy the situation a little faster. This has not been the first time that the boards are not running smoothly.

We all feel the pain :o I keep seeing PHP errors, so I am guessing that they are having a scripting problem or database issue. Could be that they have gotten so large they are pushing the limits of the existing system

I've posted on a couple threads about possible strategies (using copy/paste for example before posting) but this evening so far its been pretty flawless.

 

Lets hope they got the stuff figured out.
