Runners Posted October 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2009 Has anyone applied for and sent in their US Passport for extra visa pages? We are booked for our cruise in the first week of January. What I am asking, do we have enough time to send in our Passport for the extra visa pages or should we pay the extra and use the expedited service? Druke I Posted October 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2009 We needed extra pages for a European river cruise, Sep 07. It took about six weeks turnaround time, which we did not think too bad, as it was during the "meltdown" period when there was a backlog in processing passports. Winchester Posted October 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Can you tell me why I need "extra pages"? If it is still good.... not expired, why should i care?
Druke I Posted October 29, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2009 You may be travelling in an area of the world that requires Visas, and some of those take a full page for each one. We did a river cruise on the Danube, 2007, that traversed the Balkans, and the tour operator suggested that our passports contain 6 blank pages so all the Visas and border/customs/immigration stamps could be entered. FranKes2000 Posted October 30, 2009 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2009 Can you tell me why I need "extra pages"? If it is still good.... not expired, why should i care? Some countries will NOT share a page when stamping the passport.
DaddyWarbucks Posted November 14, 2009 #10 Share Posted November 14, 2009 When you renew your passport, you should specify that you want one with more pages. They have twice as many pages and cost no more. The only downside is that they are thicker.
