What do you see on the very wide Amazon?

We are excited to have booked the March 2011 Amazon cruise on Regatta, our first trip with Oceania. We have read that the Amazon is six miles wide. What can you see from the ship as it makes its way to Manaus? Does the river narrow considerably? Thanks.

Of course, the farther up you go it does narrow some. It's all flat land so there is not much to see on shore except trees and a few farms, there are very few towns along the way. When you get closer to Manaus, you do get quite close to shore in spots and you have a good opportunity to see the pink dolphins....and a bird or two.
